Remarks

No such complaint I have regarding anyone. Instead, each and every staff were helpful and even the Student Union. I had a small suggestion that there is a need to modify the canteen.

Course Curriculum Overview

3.5

There might be changes in the upcoming years. And the syllabus is followed according to the CALCUTTA UNIVERSITY. No groomings were provided. Well, you will hey full support from the professors. No doubt the learnings whatever there is in the syllabus is fully needed in the market.

Placement Experience

0.5

No such placements were there when I was studying. There might be changes in the upcoming years. Normal posters for jobs for freshers sometimes informed by the professors or college union.

College Events

2.5

There were many events celebrated in college. Debate competition, various kinds of sports like Cricket, judo, karate, table tennis, etc were organised by the college under the University of Calcutta. Fresher functions were also held were famous singers are invited as guests. Fresher or Existing students were also allowed to participate in this function.

Fee Structure And Facilities

The fee structures are really not expensive. Rs. 100 a month is really not expensive for commerce students. Now there might be a change in the fee structure after I left college in 2018. Overall the fee structure and the admission fees were not very expensive for anyone.

Loan/ Scholarship Provisions

I didn't opt for any kind of scholarship or education loan. If anyone needs such facility then they might get in touch with the principal of the college.

Campus Life

3

It's a co-ed college with a greater no. Of boys than girls. There are many extracurricular activities like debates, and judo sports and karate provide by the University of Calcutta. Even functions are organised every year for fresher where students also participate. Blood donation camps were also organised by the college.

Alumni/Alumna

I really had a very good relationship with the seniors. They were really very helpful. Even the student union were also very helpful.

Admission

We had just filled the application form through the online process and deposited the application money in the college. I opt for this college as its good for commerce student. I opted for B.Com General. Also, the surrounding is quite good. Sealdah station is just 5 mins away from college. So no problem for those who journey by train.

Faculty

4.5

Lecturers give full support to the students. They were very helpful in our projects and studies. In the first year, there were six subjects. 2nd year 4 subjects, 3rd year 4 subjects. Lectures were very helpful. So be attentive in the class. And you might get dull support from the professors.

Placement Experience:

On passing 5th semester, the students of Goenka College of Commerce and Business Administration are eligible for campus placement offers. The campus reach out college during our sixth semester to interview us. After passing sixth semester we can proceed with the jobs in case we qualify. All the Big 4s viz EY, Deloitte, PwC and KPMG including with MNCs reach our college for campus placement opportunities. They definitely select students each year. The highest package offered till date is 10 lakhs with a associate profile. The average package is 3 laks. The percentage of students getting placement offer is between 5% to 10 %. My plan after the BCOM course is becoming a successful Chartered Accountant and Cost and Management Accountant.

The placements are good. Top recruiting companies of our college are Wipro, ITC, PWC, Capital First, Future General and Times of India. Students majorly go for higher education, and around 30% of the students opted for internships. The average salary package offered was 2.5-3 LPA. Job roles were for students from all 3 specialisations like finance, marketing and HR.
