Remarks

Lbs college of engineering is one of the best colleges in kerala with high end facilities and faculties.Always felt that college hasnt recognised well as its situated in remote areas of kasargod where nobody wants to come.

Course Curriculum Overview

3.5

Course and curriculum is as per kannur university. We have 6 hours lab weekly. There is nothing hectic in it as labs are done enjoyingly.exams are held at the end of every semester with internals held twice for each semester

Placement Experience

2.5

Placements for mechanical division is very dull there though Cs/it/ec has better opportunities but the mechanical alumnus is very strong in overseas that they might help you in getting jobs.Alumnus is very strong in middle east.

College Events

3

There is technical events for all divisions in lbs like mechathlon for mechanical, gnysta for eee, eximus for ec, teranis for cs and haptica for IT.Cultural event named Rhythm is held every year and is host by college union

Fee Structure And Facilities

Fee structure is as per government norms though there are nri seats.Government fees are very much feasible and loans are easily gettable. And also fees for every department is.Uniform.There is no any such extra amount to be paid also

Fees and Financial Aid

Since the college is in kerala, there are several scholarships for students though college is not providing anything specifically.college will help you in getting yhe scholarship with little effort. Some scholarships available are MOMA, egrants etc

Campus Life

4

There are sports week in college conducted annually. And also there are college teams for vricket football volleyball etc who has the capablity to win university championship.Politics over here is very strong and violent.Violence cases are reported here oftenly but that doesnt affect the running of college

Hostel Facilities

4.5

Yes i had opted for hostel. There are seperate hostels for each years to reduce ragging effects. The biggest hostel is for final year students as they get the huge MH1 and LH1 for staying with good ameneties

Alumni/Alumna

Alumni network of LBS is very strong and they are very powerful in middle east regions. They have seperate wings for UAE, oman, qatar, bahrain. There are successful entreprenours in IT world who are alumnus of this college.

Admission

Got admission through kerala entrance, we needed to opt college as per our ranks. There is dedicated allotment system by kerala government for the same.Chose mechanical engineering as it was the most trending stream during that time. There wasnt any interview.

Faculty

4

Since its a government college, the faculties are of high class.mechanical engineering division has the best faculties among the other divisions. There are considerable number of professors there with doctoral degrees

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course curriculum is the worst. Teachers rush through the portions so that they can finish at the earliest. It may be because the university has a unjustifiable timetable. There is very little practicals given. The ones that are given are just for namesake.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Course curriculum is under KTU syllubus do it's fine. There is a change in curriculum coming 2024 which i assume would make a lot of good changes. The curriculum gives you a head start For most of your work, you need to on your own but the faculty is there to help. The frequency of exams is weekly tests + monthly exams. Its not too difficult of an exam.

Currently placements are bit low, due to inflation, but compared to other colleges like KMEA, etc we have better placements similar to Muthoot and all. We have placement training, and other supports which can help us crack aptitude exams and prepare for placements Almost 70-80% students are placed every year, with an avg package of 4LPA

Placement Experience:

The students usually start appearing for campus placements in their 6th semester. The training for the campus placements is started for all the students from the 4th semester. Many companies visited for campus placements. But one main problem is that most of them were low packages. Around 4LPA. Some were between 4-6 and a very few between 6-10. Most of them got placed in our batch in some company.
