Course Curriculum Overview

3

I would say curriculam is not top-notch. This needs revision. With the addition of modern tech into this world, the need of improvision has increased. Exam time is 3 hours, which is good enogh time to write for 100 marks. The question paper will have question for 240 marks with optional questions.

Placement Experience

2

Placements are offered here but for now its really bad. College have a placement cell. Usually a lot of company used to come and take 100s of graduates. This year hits different. Placements were really bad this year. Avg package provided is also low. RS 5.5LPA was the highest and 4 LPA is the avg salary for placed students.

Fees and Financial Aid

The fee structure here depends on the seat you are availing. There are 3 types of seats for engineering in this college. First is merit seat. You get this seat if your KEAM entrance rank is good. CS has most demand here. For more info refer keam last rank to know last rank for merit seat who got admitted here for respective branches. Keam rank list last rank admission also depends on reservation. SC, ST, Differently ables can have ranks very low and still be able to get a merit seat in LBS. Yearly fee for merit seat for general students is RS.40000. Reserved seats will have to pay only about 3 digit bill.Scholarship will take care of their fees. The other kind of seat is management seat. Comparitively easy to get and will have fees RS.80000. Next possible seat is only for NRIs. Its very easy for NRI people to get a seat but fees is very high, about 1.4lac. In addition to the yearly fee, if you are a hosteler then hostel will cost you around 4-5k per month. In addition , every year exam fee costs around 5K.

Campus Life

4

Numerous clubs are there in the college including IEEE. Students who are interested can join and do their part. There are 3 cells of NSS too. Being a member and completing 2 years aas an active member in NSS will get you 60 activity points.

Hostel Facilities

4

Hostels here are the best thing. College provides separate hostels for men and women. 2nd year onwards hostel for men is inside campus whereas for all 4 years girls has same hostel and is inside the campus. Both hostel has nonveg food. Students can together configure what they want to eat in hostel mess.

Admission

This college provided best placement for the time. Compared to other colleges, this was the best in the north Kerala at the time. Things have changed now though. Placement then was about 98% for CS. Now its about 30%

Faculty

5

Teaching staff is very friendly and know what they are doing. They are really professionals. Satisfying student to teacher ratio. Not very strict. Calm study envronment. Internal exams are easy and can get high marks easily.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The curriculum is very old and must be improved to be on par with the ever expanding new technologies. I took this course, since I have a passion in programming. But there are various subjects which are minimal to no - relevant towards my department, which is IT. Chemistry, Chemistry Lab, Physics, Physics lab, Maths ( even though some parts of maths and physics is needed, it can be joined with the other programming subjects so that only things that are specifically necessary are being teached and both, being a seperate subject is unnecessary ), Engineering Graphics, Engineering Mechanics, Mechanical, Civil, Mech Lab, Civil Lab, and all other non-credit subjects ( if there is no credit, why studying ? ). And can include more subjects revolving around various programming languages such as, C++, C#, Kotlin, React, etc.
