Remarks

Positive remarks include great infrastructure, facility, nutritious food provided from mess, well qualified and industrially exposed faculties. Negative remark include strictness, lack of fest and programs. Little attention given to our opinions and needs

Course Curriculum Overview

4

Course structure is absolutely fine. All new innovations coming to the marine field are thought. Exams are little bit hectic. And it is difficult to pass also. But we have chances in each semesters. So gives hope. But lab days are very useful. We are more involed to all operations and works.

Placement Experience

2.5

Placements and job opportunities are very lean. College provides job for only all cleared students. Others are lost. So it is the field where the College needs to improve. College also provides internships in Kochin shipyard which is a apt field for training. No stipend are provided.

College Events

1.5

College itself does not have a fest. We always go for other College fest. Only internal events are held annually. That includes sports events, cultural fest, tech skills which are based on the houses.

Fee Structure And Facilities

Expensive. But comparing to other marine Colleges its feasible. The fee structure includes hostel fees, mess, uniform, fees for faculties, events fees. We also need to pay extra 25000 for Indian maritime university each year.

Fees and Financial Aid

No scholarships are provided. We can avail educational loan with our own risk. College will provide us all documents for loan application. We need to show the application provided by the College in any banks to avail.

Campus Life

3

There are only male cadets. No parties are allowed. No societies. Ours is a residential course. No politics. Extracurricular activities include swimming, football, cricket, table tennis, basketball, volleyball, gymnasium.

Hostel Facilities

4

Hostel are provided with dormitory type rooms. Each room 12 cadets needs to stay. Infrastructure are good. We have space for study purpose. Near to mess. Beds are neat. Cardboard for each cadets. With good water facility

Alumni/Alumna

Alumni are held with a newsletter known as Nauka, where students are able to convey there thoughts and experiences. All sailing cadets gives their opinion through this news letter and we are acknowledged by new innovations and researches held onboard.

Admission

I like to travel and explore so at my 12th standard i searched for a course which will help me to catch my goal. Thats how i found Marin Engineering. I wrote a CET exam for getting into o ranklist of Indian Maritime Academy. I got shortlisted in that. After that i merited to this College

Faculty

4

All faculties have required degrees. Marine subjects facilities are Seafarers and chief engineers. So we are thought about all the possible situations and how to withstand that. Every fields are covered in our curriculum.

Placement Experience:

The placement cell of the college is very active. You can get internships starting 2nd year and placements starting 3rd year. About 75% of people get placed. Many MNCs like Texas Instruments are consistent hirers. The highest package of 2025 for my course is 1 crpa. The average is about 7 lpa. A student can get 5,6 offers. I plan on higher studies abroad because I want to learn more in-depth about the course.

Placements are really good. Since college is related to ISRO maximum students with cgpa above than 7 are elligible for ISRO interviews and are selected based on their performance. Apart from ISRO many campanies like Texas Instruments, UTS, Mercedez , also come here for recruuitment. Many also opt for M.tech and MBA after graduation

Placement Experience:

Students are eligible for placement from the 7th semester and internship from 3rd semester. You can apply for internship on your own right from first semester but college gives aid from 3rd semester. The major recruiter is ISRO which offers 40-45 jobs for aerospace engineering. Also other companies like CDac Airbus Boeing and DRDO and HAL visit for recruitment. Nearly 85-90% students get placed while some opt for Higher education and research too. My primary goal is to get into ISRO also I will be preparing for gate examination to complete my IIT dream.

Kerala University of Fisheries and Ocean Studies - [KUFOS], Bachelor of Technology [B.Tech] (Food Technology)
Reviewed on May 11, 2024(Enrolled 2023)

Course Curriculum Overview:

I was never interested in engineering. I passed KEAM entrance exam. So my parents forced me to become an engineer. Since I was interested, I thought food technology might be a good branch in engineering. So I got admission in KUFOS through allotment. The course is actually good . In the 1st year, you study basic engineering, 2nd year onwards food related courses are taught. If you are a student who only have the intention to study you will find this college easy to adjust. They provide all facilities to study. There is no particular frequency for a semester. Even though academic calender is there for each batch it is not followed properly. In this college the course may last upto 4.5 years. Due to this reason the students ask the management to cut shot semester breaks so that they won't loose 1 year.

I only have postive thoughts about that campus. The campus helped me to remove my pre-occupations, inhibitions, fear etc. It gave a lot of memorable moments, large number of friends. The most special thing about the college is those memorable friendships with the faculties whos understand students very well.
