The atmosphere is amazing between students and a good learning environment. The only things to improve our curriculum, fee structure, food, and exposure for the students.
Entrance Preview
I had passed IIT JEE 2013 (my score was 145 ) to take admission at IIT Roorkee. I had taken admission here for the sake of old iit and I had no other better option at that time.
Course Curriculum Overview
I am studying here production and engineering, the course curriculum is not properly designed they taught us old things repeatedly which are not very valuable. It's hard to get a placement with this knowledge only. The faculties are qualified but they don't know how to generate student's interest. they just read chapters ask students to write like a robot.
Internships Opportunities
Yes, our college provides internships, although the no. is very low the stipends are very good in the range of 40-50k. Most of the companies are from its field or startups. Some of the companies are gs, Google, Facebook, Adobe, ITC, Flipkart, Zimply, etc.
Placement Experience
Placements and job opportunities are also like internships, for cs guys there are many companies, but for the rest, there are very few companies. Packages are also high only in cs branch. IT companies offers generally more than 10lpa and others below 10lpa.
College Events
There are many festivals being celebrated in our college biggest ones is thomso , sangram and cognizance having participation and viewership of thousands. Some others are on the institute level.
Fee Structure And Facilities
Being a govt. institute the fee structure should be feasible but here it's not the case fee is around 70k per semester which is too expensive.
Fees and Financial Aid
Merit cum means scholarship is provided to some students under which eligible students get 50k per semester. The scholar loan scheme is also available by sbi under which loan payments start after your degree completion and placements.
Campus Life
The gender ratio is very poor around 80-100 girls on 700-800 boys, the campus life is very diverse and there are many extracurricular activities and groups are formed for each one. Institute has a healthy environment in politics, economics, and other social activities.
Hostel Facilities
Hostel facility is average not so good and not so bad, but mess facility sucks and worst quality which results in 150kg wastage per day.
Alumni/Alumna
The alumni association is there for these activities which organize different events related to these things which give students an opportunity to interact with them. There are many scholarships given by alumni for the students.
