Remarks

It's a good college. But, there are a lot of blanks which has to be filled. There is facilities which are not managed properly. The authorities itself are not sure at times the process to be followed for the procedure to be done.

Course Curriculum Overview

3

The course curriculum is fine. But, may be they could concentrate more on teaching the basics efficiently than the high level concepts. The exam structure is like internals (CIA) for 30 marks and external (ESE) for 70 marks. We need to get an overall aggregate of 50% to pass each semester and 40% for individual subject.

Placement Experience

1.5

Placement Cell is not that great. It is still in the place of being better. They do provide internship but the companies that come in are very less whereas the students are more. Stipend is not always good.

College Events

4

We have our inter college feast called pratibha and that's the best time of enjoying maximum. Further we have many other events like workshop, conferences etc during various departmental fest. Also there will be talk by eminent scientists occasionally.

Fee Structure And Facilities

It was feasible till my graduation. But from my second year of post graduation they have increased it and it's become expensive with respect to the services they provide. So, I don't think it's going to be as feasible as it was, anymore for the services they provide.

Fees and Financial Aid

The college offers management scholarship to eligible students. They reduce a percentage from the college fees and credit it back to the students account. Also they are very helpful to students who wish to apply for government scholarship like minority scholarship etc.

Campus Life

2

There is a great scope for extracurricular activities in the college campus itself. We need to just reach out to the concerned authorities and they do support us as per the college rules and feasiblilty.

Alumni/Alumna

Alumni network is not that great. But, we do have meeting and activities annually. I feel in future we can find it in a better place. Senior are very kind and helpfull, they is no raging practice in campus as the college prohibits it very strictly.

Admission

Initially we had to apply online in the college website and submit the hard copy of the application form either through post or self. Further after a week or two we would receive interview call through message. It starts with documents verification and checking the eligibility, then we will have the first round of interview along with the proffessors of the department and then with the college principal. If we clear the interview the principal would give the signed fee reciept which confirmed our admission.

Faculty

3.5

The faculty are fine. But, in class hours they concentrate more on teaching with respect to exam. If we want to do more they are there to support and help us after class hours. Since not everyone is experienced it is an issues as they would place these teacher for junior classes where basics would not be taught that well.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Food and nutrition articles in newspaper made me to take this course. As it had full scope in that time. Actually curriculum is very poor in preparing us for real world application. Practical session must include more of industrial visits and projects related to industry. We had enough time to study .

I liked this biotechnology course in degree(Bsc) and i wanted to continue this course with higher studies. Hence this university is reputed one in Karnataka.. i choose this one and I got the seat and I am very happy for this. The teaching methods are really good but it depends on particular lecturers, how they teach .. For main sem exam the time was around 3 hours for 70 marks and it was moderate and can be manageable

Course Curriculum Overview:

The curriculum is fairly distributed among the 2 years. The first year broadly covers the course work, and learning of the laboratory techniques. Followed by a mini project and a major project under a professor of interest. Stem cell biology always intrigued me and this course offered exactly what I want. The curriculum focuses on training students very rigorously to make them fit for harsh conditions and situations in the real research world.
