Amazing and fun!!

The college management is student-friendly. The grievances of the students are looked after and the dates and notices of the college activities are provided on time.

The college follows the syllabus provided by the Calcutta University. the exam structure is also provided by the university. the exam structure is very much fare and is equal for all the students coming under the Calcutta University. the course was quite informative and helpful for our career.

There are placement programs carried out in the commerce and science departments but no such for the humanities departments.

The department seniors welcome the students by organizing "freshers" every year at the beginning of the session. Farewells are also organized by the juniors to bid farewell to their seniors. Every year several events are organized during festivals like Saraswati Puja and Ramzan. The students take active participation in these events.

The fee structure of the college is quite feasible. The female minority candidates can also apply for a scholarship provided by the college. the monthly fees is 75 rupees along with 400 rupees session fees which is to be paid in the beginning of the session. The college fees are to be paid in the college fee counter on the allotted dates.

There are scholarships for meritorious female minority candidates. The reserved classes also have concessions in their fees.

The college has a beautiful campus with gardens and a well maintained "medicinal plants" garden. There is a balanced gender ratio in the college. The college union frequently organizes cultural events in the college campus. The college organizes their annual sports at the end of every year which includes a number of indoor and outdoor games.

The seniors are quite helpful and bonded well with the juniors. They helped with the study materials and the projects provided by the teachers. Especially the departmental seniors were of great help in academics. They gelled quite well with the juniors and ragging is a strict no in the college, the seniors look into that matter quite diligently.

Political science is an important subject in the field of social sciences. Maulana Azad College has been rated as one of the top colleges under Calcutta University and has been accredited as grade "A" by NAAC. Being located in central Kolkata has made transportation convenient for a large number of students coming from different parts of the state. the baker hostel by the college accommodates around 600 boarders from the minority community coming from different parts of the country.there have been plans of setting up a girls' soon. the anti-ragging measures taken up the college has improved the ambiance of the college and has made it more student-friendly. The students are required to fill up the online admission forms available on the college website. The college then releases the merit list of the candidates. The selected candidates are given dates for document verification and the fees are collected accordingly. The staff is cordial and informative.

The college provides a wide variety in the subjects ranges with experienced faculty. The humanities departments have knowledgeable teachers willing to help the students. the science labs are well equipped with lab assistants and people to guide. the teachers also provide with alot of study materials for the course.
