Remarks

It is the best college in mumbai after IIT because of the environment and culture. Also it is located exactly in the heart of Mumbai so very easy to commute to every day. The Students and the faculty is very nice and kind.

Course Curriculum Overview

4.5

The course curriculum is very good and is as per the standards of the best colleges in India the course curriculum is laid such that the advanced as well as basic topics are covered and the student gets a good grip on the the course. The exam structure is divided into mid semester test and end semester test the mid semester test is a 40 marks which is converted to 20 marks and internal assessment of 20 marks is done by the teacher the end semester test is conducted for hundred marks and scaled down to 60 marks upon adding all the marks throughout the semester it adds up to 100 marks. The grading is relative.

Placement Experience

4.5

The placement and job opportunities are excellent due to the fact that it is the one of the oldest colleges in Asia and has a very well reputation with all the companies throughout India which college provides summer internships in which student gets 2 to 3 months of internship in Companies that we training and placement office gets. Because I am doing Masters in engineering I get stipend from AICTE and hence I can't do internships the stipend that I get it is of INR 12400 per month which is called as teaching assistantship

College Events

4.5

The college celebrates a lot of events like special days in the Indian calendar most of the the events are celebrated by the students and faculty of all the branches events are conducted by committee from different departments some of the event that are celebrated in my college are Republic Day Independence Day Gandhi Jayanti Maharashtra day and various other events

Fee Structure And Facilities

Very much feasible due to the fact that it is a semi Government College which is it is a college that is Mumbai University affiliated but an autonomous Institute. Due to the fact that it is a government college the fee structure is very low compared to other colleges providing engineering

Fees and Financial Aid

Because this is a government college the scholarship provided by government is to be granted first if you perform exceptionally well in your course also the aluminium network provides scholarship to to underprivileged students and also the government provides scholarship loan facility to two students who cannot afford the amount of the college which is itself very minimum compared to others I self financed

Campus Life

3.5

The extracurricular activities are very nice with many committees in the college recruiting throughout the year. The Labs all the best for doing experiments and are well kept. The faculty of the labs is the same as the faculty that is teaching you. Extra curricular activities like sports are encouraged in the college and the college has its own basketball football and other sports groups in various age categories.

Alumni/Alumna

The college has a Alumni program in place which is very strong. They give scholarship and aid in various forms. The seniors are very helpful too. They are as important as the faculty of the college because there guidance helps you making through the years.

Admission

I joined the M.TECH THERMAL ENGINEERING course through GATE exam held in the month of February every year conducted by IITs of different places. I scored a non negative number but did not get qualifying Marks. Through DTE Cap rounds I got into the college through spot rounds.

Faculty

5

The faculty of the college is very helpful and guide you throughout the semester there is an open door policy by which you can take the help of the teacher anytime during the college hours the faculty teachers in a very interactive way and also be Labs are conducted by the teachers so show the balance of practical and theory is perfect

Remarks:

If DIAT can provide placements, this is one area where DIAT lacks. Other than this DIAT is a college that is comparable to the IITs, better than NITs for post-graduation courses for sure. Since this college is regarded as one of the DRDO colleges, it provides very good opportunities for research.

Entrance Preview:

To pursue post-graduation in IIT, you have to clear the gate examination. After scoring a good percentile you will get calls from various colleges where you will have to face the interview. I scored 99.5 percentile in the GATE exam and being the best institute for technology, I chose IIT Powai despite being selected for many other IIT.

College managements were really good. We were provided the internal bus facility to avail. We also had bus passes because we used to walk a lot within the campus only. I must say that everybody must see the IITB once because it is heaven.
