Good college

MIT takes it's own separate entrance exam. No interviews are taken after the exam, admission is giving purely on the basis of rank in the entrance test. I had a rank of near 7000 and decided to join this college because it provides exposure to people from across the global.

Curriculum is same as of iits and examination are quite tough. 2 open electives are there in curriculum in which subjects of any of the branch may be taken up, subjects outside of engineering are also there as an option such as advertising, flim studies, foreign languages, management, physics, math etc. Six progam electives are there where you have to choose subjects related to your branch, you can do mini specialization by choosing subjects related to a single topic in the electives.

All the major companies come for internship such as amazon, goldman Sachs, sandisk, cisco, phillips etc. come for internship. Stipend provided by the company very and the data is not made public by the college authorities.

Most of the eligible students get placed, the highest package is given by microsoft and amazon etc and is more than 20 lakhs, tcs and other companies give a avarage of 3.5 lakhs.

Technical event called tech tatva is held every year during September, which see participation from colleges like nit suratkal, srm, vit etc. Cultural fest called revels are held during march and sees quite a big participation. It ends with events of some famous singers like vishal dadlani, farahan akhtar, etc. Inter university cultural fest utsav also takes place which sees more participants than revels.

Top 1000 rank students are given full scholarship. Also scholarships are provided to low income group students with good rank 5% scholarship is available for konkani speaking students. Loans are available from SBI and ICICI etc.

Exams of 15-20 marks take place twice and a 50 end sem exam is also conducted. Surprise Assignment test are taken for the rest of the marks. Number of labs depend upon the branch. Few days of a week are hectic but rest are days are ok. 4 hour classes are
