Remarks

I gave the title Master of All Trades. The reason behind the title is that if you get admission in this college the amount of exposure you get is tremendous and too in any field you want be it related to Engineering or not related to Engineering. I would say if a student keeps himself active in this college he will surely do well in his life because this college develops an individual in all fields.

Course Curriculum Overview

4

Course Curriculum: I am satisfied with the Course Curriculum of my College. There are theoretical and practical subjects thus students do not get bored. We have practicals conducted for each and every subject, this helps the student understand a topic both theoretically and practically. In the first year every student had to do a subject of every other branch, thereby getting a brief introduction of all the branches. Exam Structure: In each semester for each subject, we have 2 units each of 30 marks. We have 2 IA each of 10 marks. We have a semester exam of 80-100 marks. All of these are finally reduced to 100 marks. We have a practical exam of 25 marks too.

Placement Experience

4.5

As far as I know about the placement, our college has 100% placements with companies like Barclays, Morgan Stanley recruiting students. This year the highest package was 24 lacs provided by Morgan Stanley to 2 students, 1 from Comps and other from IT. Comps and It have a good average salary of about 6-8 lacs Other branches Mechanical has an average of about 4 lacs Etrx and Extc has an average of about 3 lacs. Internships are always floated by the Internship and Placement Cell of the College. These internships are mainly floated in Third and Fourth Year. The faculties also provide with In House Internships

College Events

5

3 huge fests in a year. Abhiyantriki - Tech fest. It has the likes of Indian Army, Indian Navy, BARC, DRDO, ISRO coming for tech expo. 2 Day Event Skream - Sports fest. One of the biggest sports fest in India having 14 different sports and prize money of Rs 50000 for some of the sports. I would define Skream as a perfect festival. 5 Day Event Symphony - Cultural fest. We have had Admit Trivedi, Biswa Kalyan Rath, Red bull tour Bus, The Lost Stories, Vishal Shekhar, Vipul Goyal coming to perform over the years. 4 Day Event Also every year there is a shield for the best branch which includes technical activities, indoor sports, outdoor sports, and cultural activities.

Fee Structure And Facilities

The fee structure is a bit expensive. A general class student has a fee varying from Rs 170000 - Rs 190000 per year. However if you are a backward class student then the fees reduces. However with the facilities and exposure provided to the students, I would say it is just fine. I just have one complaint, there are no AC's in the college.

Fees and Financial Aid

There is a council in the college named PUSH KJSCE. This council helps the students with their fees which they obviously need to repay back when you start earning, but I feel this is a good initiative. All those who have a family income less than 8 lacs, can opt for Chattrapati Shahu Maharaj Scholarship on MahaDBT where by they get a scholarship of 50% of the Tuition Fee. The college also helps needy students on proper request.

Campus Life

4

The infrastructure is good, and I am satisfied with it. The only thing that lacks is air conditioning. Rest everything is very good. The classrooms and labs are spacious and all equipments are available. We have a football ground, cricket ground, table tennis room, Badminton court, Tennis court, Sqaush court, volleyball and basketball court, and even human chess. The sports facilities are at its best. A 4 storey library is great. Unlimited Wi-Fi is available and inappropriate sites are blocked. Medical facility is also pretty good, there is a clinic run by the college in our campus.

Hostel Facilities

4

I have not opted for Hostel, but some of my friends stay in Hostel. There are two hostels, one of them does not have much facilities as the rate is very less (approximately Rs 70000 per year including everything). However the second hostel is not less than a 3 star hotel. It provides all the facilities, the rate is very high(approximately Rs 200000 per year including everything). The food provided by both of them is good. A third hostel is being constructed.

Alumni/Alumna

The seniors are very helpful, I have been here for 3 years and I would say they have always helped me in each and everything, be it Academics, Projects, Internships or Extra Curricular Activities. Ragging is strictly prohibited. We also have a council in the college named Alumni Cell, which maintains the Alumni Network, and provide assistance whenever needed.

Admission

We had an Entrance Exam named MHCET (200 marks: Physics 50 marks, Chemistry 50 marks, Mathematics 100 marks). I had a score of 130 out of 200. After getting the score we had to select the colleges on MAHADBT website. We had to put preference list along with various documents like Domicile Certificate, 10th and 12th Marksheet, CET scorecard, Address Proof etc. There were 3 rounds. In each round people were allotted colleges based on their CET score and 12th percentage. I got K.J. Somaiya College of Engineering Computer Engineering in the first round itself. I secured my admission at this college.

Faculty

4

Some of the faculty are very experienced while some of them are not very experienced but all of them are specialized in the fields they teach. They are always there to help the students out. Some of them are very student friendly. I haven't faced any problem with any faculty as they are very co-operative.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Soo ever since kid i was interested in bikes this interest was all for me to take this course , my father is very bike enthusiast and it came down to me , i could easily take mechanical and other engineering cause these are common courses which involves automobile , but since i wanted to follow my passion , i wanted to do specialization in automobile itself and DPCOE was offering this course with great facilities and knowledge providing us a path in this lane of career in this field. According to me curriculum prepares us quite well as they conduct workshop which are relevant to outside world where we'll be working. If there were more practical workshops for us to work on would be great cause automobile engineering is all about practicals rather than theoroticals Professor should try teaching in physical part rather than taking lectures and explaining the concept by just words

Yes there is placement cell of STES which is no different than other tier 3 engineering colleges offering a tier 3 average package depending on who is the recruiter. Students become eligible for campus from 3rd year of their degree. Highest package is something around 55 lakhs offered to a computer engineering student, and average is just like I said for a tier 3 college 5-6 lakhs(above or below). Almost everyone gets placed in the company but some might not.
