Remarks

Positive it is place where you will enjoy your college life with a beautiful environment, friends, faculty and events. You will never get boared. Teaching is good. Easy to understand good faculty. Negative - toilet cleanliness no wifi ,and canteen service is not good , placement is another concern

Course Curriculum Overview

4

I am presently at the final batch of gauhati university but the college is now under Assam State Technical University ( change of university while we are in college). So as far as my course curriculum considered it is of old structured but the new university has a updated and a modern course structure. The exam consista of 100 marks papers. And lab viva extras.

Placement Experience

2.5

Yes the college proveides job opportunity but the jobs are very less or not good companies. Hope to see better companies this year. Yes they provide good internships at different psus i did my internship in kolkata metro railway corporation limited the experience was good but there is no stipend provided by the organisation for internship.

College Events

4.5

Their are many events in our college. Student induction program , acoustic night , spondan a dance competition, dance the night away another dance competition , pyrokines annual cultural fest , udvabbanam annual tech fest, many debate competition , drama competition etc.

Fee Structure And Facilities

The feee structure is feasible and very less compared to many other engineering institutes including admission every year and examination fees the lump sump amount of fee is nearly 25000 indian rupees.

Fees and Financial Aid

For North eastern students the government provide ishan- uday scholarship and the department of technical education assam provides NEC scholarship for economically backward students. Their are other scholarships like. Minority , girls students , poor scholarship etc.

Campus Life

2.5

Labs need improvement but for extracurricular activities we have many clubs like Sovic - they work for street children and old age homes, beat club for dance, jam club for singing and etc , drama club for theater and debating club, automobile club etc they all are very active and every year they get many participants from the newly admitted students side.

Alumni/Alumna

Yes they are we have a very huge alumini background. Because the college has a long past. Many of our alumni working in different fields in different countries. Through their help we get the opportunity to go different places for internships. They also update us with job notifications etc.

Admission

I gave Combined Entrance Exam conducted by state government for the entry in different government engineering colleges in Assam.at that time that is in 2016 the paler consists of 300 questions 100 from each physics chemistry and mathematics and after the result authority published the rank list for counselling at newspapers and through this counselling i got entry to this college.

Faculty

4

Faculties are very friendly. Available always, creative good teaching experience. They likes to solve problems of students, specially they are friendly so it makes us easy to understand things. chalk and board teaching is going on with digita classroom so better place to learn.

Placement Experience:

Placements are not really good in our college, it is more of a research institute so it mainly focuses on PhD as PhD strength is good. Higher education is more prefered here but placement scenario is also good

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course curriculum is very relevant and is different for different branches according to their needs. I was interested in civil engineering and chose the course and find the curriculum intersting and relevant for me . The curriculum offers subject which are important for real world applications, like in civil engineering it's offers subjects like building construction, solid mechanics, fluid mechanics, material testing, serving, etc. The course curriculum is very good but the teaching methods needs improvement like more digitalization . The exams frequency and timings are neither too late nor too early, they are perfectly planned and executed.

Course Curriculum Overview:

There exists a good teaching staff that's why the course is very easy to understand also teachers give us good examples also do practicals so that's students understand the course easily . I see that there exist a low no of equipments in practical lab compare to it's students ratio so if they have a good no of equipments then all students get equipment to do experiment without any waste of time . Time is good as compare to marks and the first 30 marks are beginner level the other 40 marks are intermediate level and the remaining 30 Marks are advanced level questions in a question paper for the students they published.

Placement Experience:

The placement scenario is quite good, with several reputed companies like General Electric, Power Grid Corporation of India, Goldman Sachs, among others recruiting 94 percent of the students in the college. The placement takes place in three rounds, one testing one's aptitude, followed by an hour round, finally leading on to a technical round. Mock interview and job cracking sessions are organized regularly, both by the departments, and also the Training and Placement Cell, to prepare students for the interviews and examinations going forward. The Training and Placement Cell also provides internship opportunities at the end of third year for the students, based on their aptitude and abilities

Remarks:

I have mostly positive remarks about college except for the fact that the college is situated really far from mainstream north India. Train connectivity is not that strong to rest of country. But despite that the college is extremely good in the sense of learning, meeting new innovative minds, and of course placements and jobs.
