Remarks

The washrooms needs to be refurbished, there are no western styled toilets installed, which is a main problem for me and many others.

Entrance Preview

Nothing, I got selected based on my ISC boards marks, which were decent enough, and I got my name selected in the list of 250 or so, among which 25 were taken, I was the 21st person to be taken in.

Course Curriculum Overview

Curriculum is vast, a lot of clubs including literary, dancing, band, choir, and a lot others, Faculty is decent.

Internships Opportunities

Its my first year just got admitted a few days back maybe a month or so and this isnt engineering so I dont think there are options for those.

Placement Experience

There is a placement cell for discussing what kind of placements are available, and there are quite a few.

College Events

Caledonia as far as the name is concerned, its pretty big from what I heard never got a chance to attend though.

Campus Life

Gender ratio seems to be 1:1, but not sure about exact numbers there are a lot of extracurriculum, many clubs, for instance, labs are well maintained, competitions are held from time to time, quite a few times a year, and they are well participated by the students.

Hostel Facilities

There are quite a few Hostels, the Lady Jane Dandus being the most recent one, for girls i heard they are pretty decent the food varies from person to person, some like it, some dont, I find it average except for the amazing chicken sandwitches.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The Physical Chemistry faculties are the best I got, that influenced me to carry forward my research carrier in Physical Chemistry. The curriculum for the Physical and Inorganic chemistry are upto the mark and I felt improvement in teaching style and curriculum is required for Organic Chemistry part. The difficulty of Internal examination can be improved a bit.

Course Curriculum Overview:

In this course various fields of biology are explored, leads to appearance of many opportunities for the master's degree. Regular practical classes helps to gain in hand experience. Viva voce helps to gain confidence among students. Exams are moderate level of difficulty, also internal class tests are conducted for preparation.

It was good to be a part of that college

Course Curriculum Overview:

I would say the course is good but you have to opt for masters and PhD to get a good placement. After bsc there's not any placement. The curriculum was basically practical and theoretical based. But I think it should be more practical so that we can get a job after doing bsc. The teaching method was good I didn't have any problem with that. As it was under Calcutta University so the exam questions were too difficult, sometimes it came out of our syllabus , i think they should change this a little bit .

The reality of SCC

Course Curriculum Overview:

The syllabus for BSc. Microbiology Hons. was in line with my interests. Few topics like virology, bacteriology, and diversity of the microbial workd are what drew my attention to pick this course. Although there are some portions which one would consider "boring", but I believe every subject has its interesting as well as boring portions. It's seems fair to judge a subject by seeing if the "boring" portions outweigh the "interesting" parts or not.

In terms of relevance and comprehensiveness of the course curriculum, my rating is solid 4.1 out of 5. Because it offers a variety of courses like compulsory english, environmental science, constitution values of India, Inter Disciplinary Courses where one can opt for a variety of subjects which change along with the course proceeds or semester changes. Not only that two major papers and one minor paper are present throughout the semester. As a student we should be well aware of our country and its law as well as how we can keep our environment healthy followed by sustainable development.

Remarks:

This college is extremely good and known for its discipline and the stress it puts on the importance of studying. Also, there are many extra curricular activities thag one can take part in, and the teachers are helpful and encourages for a better future and are also vert capable. I opted for the course because any biology related course excites me and this college has one of the best faculty for this course.

It was good to be a part of that college

You have to pass the 12 th boards with above 90% marks then only you'll get the college. They always have the application form and all the informations in there official college website. There was reservation policies as I was sc so it was a little bit low cut off for my reservation. The exam pattern and difficulty level was a little bit hard. The admission process was fully online and convenient. eligibility of my course is above 75% in PCB subjects in 12th grade. online application and everything related to admission is available on the website. For taking admission in Scottish church college you should have atleast 90% best of 4 in your 12th boards(although it will slightly depend on department to department). Scottish Church College doesn't take any admission test. The college admits students on the basis of their board exams. So likewise I got admitted to the college through my board exam marks. The eligibility of the course is the percentage of one's board exam marks. The application form can be found in internet on the college's official website, and further more details,like application fees, application dates etc are given on the college website. If anyone asks me that what aspects of the admission process I didn't like, my simple answer is there is nothing that I didn't like about the admission process.
