Remarks

No negative remarks about the college. It is the best in Kerala to study and enjoy your life. The college has good form of politics. We are aware of our rights and enjoy it very much. From this college you can learn life

Course Curriculum Overview

4.5

Course curriculum and exam is done by MG University. In my opinion, due to the semester system syllabus is not getting a continuity and depth. It can be made better if the university wishes so. Exam structure is very poor. MG university needs to improve a lot.

Placement Experience

4

I am a student doing my course and my graduation is in 2020. The college has a placement cell and offers good job opportunities. Many of my seniors got jobs in many companies. They got opportunities to do projects in collaboration with the state government.

College Events

5

The main celebrations are onam and Christmas. The other celebrations include union inauguration, arts day, sports day, kerala piravi dinam, college day, department day, dc day. Election is one of the main events.

Fee Structure And Facilities

The fee structure is very much affordable and there is lots of extra concession for students from poor families. The college provides scholarships. Scholarships are of two types, the one offered by the college and the other by the government. They are grants for students who are economically backward. Above all the the normal annual fee is very low

Fees and Financial Aid

I haven't availed any scholarship. But the ones that are known to me are Prathibha scholarship, E grant that is for sc/st students and students from union territory. The department also provides memorial scholarships.

Campus Life

4.5

The extra curricular activities include NCC, NSS, Uni Y and different clubs. I myself is the executive of the official art platform of the college. Sports team of the college includes cricket, football, hockey, badminton, baseball, kho kho, basketball, net ball etc. The hockey team of UC is the defending champions of Mg. The college provides the best lab structure both for ug and pg programme.

Hostel Facilities

5

Yes I am an Hosteler. The hostel facilities facilities are very much good and satisfying. The building is little old but it will give you a nostalgic feeling. The food provided in the hostel is the best. The environment of the hostel is very much supportive.

Alumni/Alumna

They are very helpful for us. They help us both in our academic problems and personal problems. They are very good in giving guidelines for our future from their experience. Most of the alumnis of UC college work in reputed companies or does their higher education in reputed colleges

Admission

Applied in the Mg University online site with higher secondary marks and campus preference. My first option was UC College, Aluva and second was Marthoma College, Thiruvalla. I got UC in the second allotment. Went to the college and confirmed my admission in the alloted date.

Faculty

5

One of the best facilities in Kerala. The department is enriched with efficient teachers who are brilliant in academics as well as social thinking. Their knowledge is an asset to the students and the teacher very much friendly.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Course curriculum is almost best. Curriculum doesn't influenced me in deciding this course. Curriculum should add internships. Currently there is no mandatory internship, if students are interested they can do internship during vacations. As we are learning psychology which need to be practiced in real world settings, curriculum must include real world training to help students understand things more effectively. Currently intervel between exams are non existent. Internal exams, then semester exams, you blink once, next internal exams, followed by semester exams. Syllabus is understandable, can learn if you try. Exams are also manageable. Real world examples and stories can be included in teaching methods, as psychology is related to humans and human interaction, to get better grasp of concepts. Rather than focusing on passing exam, should focus on the concepts and understand them in-depth. There are a lot of theories to study by heart. And there are many repetitive topics that overlap, but in different semesters.

Course Curriculum Overview:

My course is Bsc Biotechnology. It is a research associated course. Its main scope is in research. But in every industry let it be medical or industrial a biotechnologist is required. I would like more practical knowledge than theory knowledge in this course as it is needed to be implemented in labs hands on experience is essential. Exams are conducted every 6 months as semester. Class tests and model exams are conducted frequently. Assignments, projects, seminar ,etc.. are given every month.
