A good professional college

Panjab University opened a Regional Centre for imparting quality technical education to kandi area hoshiarpur with the name of Swami Sarvanand Giri Panjab University Regional Centre in year 2006 with four branches of engineering. In 2007 Panjab university started two new courses in LAW as BALLB 5 year integrated course and 3 Years LLB course, and Master of computer applications (MCA).

Course curriculum is good, comprised of extra curricular activities also and lots of professional activities im order to encourage professionalism. There is bi semester system followed. Annually there are two semesters. There are on an average 6 subjects and the examinations are held twice in a year.

Talking about the placement opportunities, there are not more in the law department of the college but the engineering department has them. Various companies visit the college every year and give jobs to the students.The college also provide internship.

There are many events organized and celebrated in the college. There are two annual fests of both the departments. The teej celebration is also there. Cultural events are also organized here. Youth festival is also organized. Moot Court competitions are also organized.

The fee structure is quote feasible. Since the University is run by the state so the fees are quite nominal. But for the professional and self financed courses like BALLB the fees is quite higher but it is still lesser than private colleges.

The University provides the scholarship to the Bright students. The students who are from the scheduled class or the backward class are provided scholarship. The University also provide scholarship to the bright students of general category.

The sports and cultural committee looks after the activities other than academics which help in the overall development of students. the committee organizes sports meet annually in which students of the college take part with full enthusiasm in the different events such as athletics, basket ball, football, lan gaming, kho-kho, volleyball etc. the cultural committee is responsible for various cultural activities in the college in the fields of dance, theatre and music.

The senior students are really helpful. The guide the juniors well. Everyone lives with peace and love. It is quite a Small campus so everyone is in touch with each other. Seniors are really helpful towards the juniors.

First of all one has to apply for the entrance exam of Panjab University and after getting qualified one has to attend the councelling for this college. If one's rank is in the merit list then he'll get admission.

Faculty is great. All the professors are very supportive. They are quite professional and gives accurate knowledge of each and everything. They help in each and every aspect. They all are UGC qualified.
