Remarks
The college is a very reputed college and has maintained it's reputation for many many years. It's great overall, and i would recommend it to anyone anyday.But it would be great if a little bit more focus would be given on the placement area, because at the end of the day everyone's here to get a job.
Course Curriculum Overview
The course curriculum is pretty compact, wrapped up in 8 semesters over a period of 4 years. The exam structure therefore,involves semester exams, (following mid sems ), for each of the 8 semesters.
Placement Experience
Placements and job opportunities are the one lagging area of this college. While some of the departments have good placements with several companies hiring students, some other departments have just 2-3 companies visiting every year, and recruiting a very minimal number of students.Same applies for the internship. Some departments are offered good internships in different parts of the country, while for other departments, it's just the students' responsibility alone.
College Events
1.Reunion- it involves a gathering of several alumnus of the department. It's a very informative and enthusiastic event that's held every 2 years. 2.A gathering with people involved with companies that might recruit students of the department. 3. Fresher's for the freshee and farewell for the last batch.
Fee Structure And Facilities
The fee structure js very feasible. It includes a tuition fee of 3000 rupees and an exam fee of 500 rupees every semester. The tuition fee includes library fee, athletic fee. There's almost no other expenses other than these.
Fees and Financial Aid
There is a scholarship that can be availed in the first year of the course, which is awarded on the basis of class 12 results. Apart from this,there's no such good scholarship or loan facility in the college that I've heard of.
Campus Life
The extra curricular activities are also up to the mark. An annual sports is held every year, with students participating from various departments. Infrastructure of labs are good, but could be better.
Alumni/Alumna
Alumnus is very helpful. Every year they have been actively participating in the Reunion of the department and sharing with the students any information they deem important. There's a great senior-junior bonding and one is always there when the other is in need.
Admission
The admission process is through a rank obtained in the WBJEE exam, which can be taken after class 12 exam. There are generally 3 rounds of counselling, where one can select a stream of one's choice.
Faculty
The faculty of the college is undoubtedly one of the best in the state. It involves qualified and knowledgeable teachers, who also have a great camaraderie with the students. Besides, the faculty is pretty varied with teachers specialising in different areas.
