Dipankar Kalita's Review On BITS Pilani, Pilani

Life in BITS if said to decribed in a single word is awesome. In BITS freedom to do what you like to do is its main highlight.

BITS HD admission test I choose this course at BITS Pilani because it better than some NITs which you can get through GATE if you do not make it to good NITs and IITs.

The course cirriculum is good as it involves lots of mini projects and presentations( one or two mini projects per subject). The exposure to research is okay, but do not expect high end research.

I have not done any internship. In BITS you have the unique oppurtunity of going to practice school(PS) in major companies instead of doing dissertation in ME. Many students are absorbed during their work at PS based on performance.

Placements are good as compared to other institutions of high repute.Companies such as Shell, Honeywell , Michelin etc. visited the campus and offered attractive packages for ME students.

OASIS is the annual cultural festival at pilani campus. It is one of the biggest college fest held in the country. Some of the best memories of my life are from OASIS. Held for about 3 days and nobody in the college campus sleeps, loads of activities you can do with numerous event to participate.

ME students avail scholarship of 40 % deduction in fees or Rs 8000 per month or both, depending on performance and grades.

Campus life was awesome, BITS is one of those institutions whete complete freedom is given to the students.You can make the most out of it or nothing out of it.Here attendance is not an issue. People are allowed to do pretty much what should do. Gender immbalance is an issue as male: female ratio is high here about 3:1. The culture here is very diverse and people from every part of the country resides here. Diversity in culture is the beauty of BITS and the support of the college management to sustain and celebrate every curtural events is applaudable. Student politics also prevail here although this is a private institution. You never get bordd out here because here exploring yourself never ends.

Hostels are old, but when i left in 2014 some new hostels were established. Single and double rooms are allotted to students. It is fully a residential complex and hostels are ample to accomodate students. The fees in hostels and mess are average. The mes

The alumini network is good and seniors are supportive.

The faculties are good,but lacks the passion and desire as compared to IITs .
