Remarks

Negative is no proper boundaries of college. For which animals comes in campus of our Assam engineering college. Positive is student friendly college. Have 8 hostels and one more is on the way and north east first engineering college is AEC.

Course Curriculum Overview

Course curriculum is fine. Exam structures are student friendly and also helpful for poor childs. The exams are semester in semester basis , with six course outcome test, labs & viba are also there.

Placement Experience

Almost 15 % of the Assam engineering college student get campus placement with higher package like 10 lakh per anum + , oil & ongc are major company. Internship is mandatary in every summer vacation. Although they do not provide for social internship.

College Events

There is annual sports fest termed as college week in which all sports competition are done, there are several football & cricket tournament also. And we have our most awaited program of year our college fest. Known as pyrokinesis.

Fee Structure And Facilities

Assam engineering college has feasible fee structure comparatively much lower than other government engineering colleges. Hence it becomes a major help source for the poor childs with talents. Only 15000 per anum.

Fees and Financial Aid

Although I missed my scholarship due to my adhar card which I dont have. Yes there are severe scholarship scheme & loan facilities there. And I am planning to take loan, but the interest rate is high, so I m thinking for any other soln.

Campus Life

Assam Engineering college is all about your extra curricular activities, sports is one of the famous thing, frankly speaking labs are too strict, still all equipments are not available. Workshop condition of college is also not that preferable.

Alumni/Alumna

Main thing we learn is the chain of AEC ( assam engineering college). Our seniors help us very much whenever needed, even seniors passed in 1998 are still visit our college and gives direction to the Junior. Mainly in orientation program the successful aluminis of college come to visit.

Admission

In 2017 I took coaching in super 30 nagaon for preparation of engineering entrance exam.& in the next year I gave my examination through which I cracked CEE of Assam state government, after which I got my rank list which is under 1000. And with this I secured my seat in AEC (assam engineering college) & I took admission.

Faculty

Most of the faculties are from Assam. Any many of them pursued their M.tech in Indian Institute of technology guwahati and B. Tech from Assam government Engineering college such as JEC, AEC, JIST etc. Some of them are extremely talented while some are not good.

Placements are not really good in our college, it is more of a research institute so it mainly focuses on PhD as PhD strength is good. Higher education is more prefered here but placement scenario is also good

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course curriculum is very relevant and is different for different branches according to their needs. I was interested in civil engineering and chose the course and find the curriculum intersting and relevant for me . The curriculum offers subject which are important for real world applications, like in civil engineering it's offers subjects like building construction, solid mechanics, fluid mechanics, material testing, serving, etc. The course curriculum is very good but the teaching methods needs improvement like more digitalization . The exams frequency and timings are neither too late nor too early, they are perfectly planned and executed.

Digboi college and my experience through it .

Course Curriculum Overview:

There exists a good teaching staff that's why the course is very easy to understand also teachers give us good examples also do practicals so that's students understand the course easily . I see that there exist a low no of equipments in practical lab compare to it's students ratio so if they have a good no of equipments then all students get equipment to do experiment without any waste of time . Time is good as compare to marks and the first 30 marks are beginner level the other 40 marks are intermediate level and the remaining 30 Marks are advanced level questions in a question paper for the students they published.

I choosed because my CEE marks which was 92 at that time was not enough to get admission in govt engineering colleges and the OBC cut off was 120+. So, in Whole northeast Girijananda Chowdhury Institute of Management and Technology is the no 1 and the oldest private engineering college and I decided to take admission there.

The placement scenario is quite good, with several reputed companies like General Electric, Power Grid Corporation of India, Goldman Sachs, among others recruiting 94 percent of the students in the college. The placement takes place in three rounds, one testing one's aptitude, followed by an hour round, finally leading on to a technical round. Mock interview and job cracking sessions are organized regularly, both by the departments, and also the Training and Placement Cell, to prepare students for the interviews and examinations going forward. The Training and Placement Cell also provides internship opportunities at the end of third year for the students, based on their aptitude and abilities

Distance is the only issue.

Remarks:

I have mostly positive remarks about college except for the fact that the college is situated really far from mainstream north India. Train connectivity is not that strong to rest of country. But despite that the college is extremely good in the sense of learning, meeting new innovative minds, and of course placements and jobs.

My college experience

Admission is based on the scores obtained. admission using their JEE scores, entering through the CSAP round and JoSAA counseling. The college provides category-based benefits for SC, ST, OBC, and EWS candidates. The cutoff marks for the college typically range from 120 to 130 out of 480. Only the top-performing students in the entrance exam are admitted to the college.
