MSRIT Bangalore, Mechanical Engineering

Remarks

Good nice infrastructure and vast campus, very less restrictions and rules when comes, effective faculties, very good placement record bad the out door gaming facility is not very good, expensive for non-CET students.

Entrance Preview

I took COMED-K entrance exam because I wasn't a resident of Karnataka but if one is he/she can also take CET exam since MSRIT was the 3rd in top colleges under comed-k and it's mechanical engineering branch has very strong faculty team that's why I took that branch there.

Course Curriculum Overview

4

The course structure is pretty good and effective on the basis of research focus because we always had 2 to 3 labs in every semester and the test pattern is very effective as we did not get any written assignment for home but instead of that surprise test were held which encourage you to be prepared every time with the subjects.

Internships Opportunities

Yes the college provide internship and the companies like Bosch, Toyota, Volvo, Cisco etc came during my time the whole internship program is managed by the placement department.

Placement Experience

4.5

The placement and job opportunities are just very good this year a lump sum of 260 to 270 companies came most of them were starters and many well recognized companies also came including Toyota, J P Morghan, Microsoft, Google, Robert Bosch, Infosys, Accenture, Cisco, flipkart, snapdeal, Dell, HP, LinkedIn, L&T, SAP labs etc the most of the IT core companies offered great packages with an average of 7L+ but core non IT companies offered averagely 4L.

College Events

5

Well speaking of fest and events apart from external and internal exam time there must be some event held somewhere. There are individual fests conducted by each department as the departmental fests and there is one annually college fest all consisting of various fun and cultural events and technical competitions.

Fee Structure And Facilities

The fee structure is different for students coming from different entrance exam the fee for CET students are around 60-annually but same for COMED-K students are 150-160K which is very expensive for students belonging to middle class families. Also there is concession for students belonging to SC/ST and OBC but that too only for CET students.

Fees and Financial Aid

No i haven't come across any of such cases so I don't think there is any although you can apply for a recommendation letter from college if you can getting a scholarship or loan facility from other sources such as government programs, Banks etc.

Campus Life

3.5

The campus life is pretty good in MSRIT as it has a very good and vast spread campus area the gender ratio is is not equal although it also depends on the branch(RIP Mech) but apart from that may be around 0.6 to 0.7 we haven't come across any cases of gender, ethnicity, politics, religion or any other kind of discrimination.

Hostel Facilities

3

The hostel facility is provided to students. The hostel rooms are average and good provided which hostel are you getting into as they have different tiers according to the expenses. The rooms provided are single, double, triple and 4 sharing rooms too the

Alumni/Alumna

I didn't know about alumni network that time although there is one we were mostly involved with seniors well seniors are helpful or not that depends on them, we can conclude by a review, but on the contrary our seniors were very helpful.

Exam Structure

Well the exams are very frequently but it wasn't hectic as portion are always the recently taught topics the portion for exam were reduced increasing the no of exams the cause for more exams was replacing the assignments the internals exams are though hec

Faculty

4.5

As I have already mentioned the mechanical engineering faculties are very good infact in the whole VTU curriculum every one refers to book written by our faculties, more than 90% subjects are referred by books written by our faculties. Also the faculties

Placement Experience:

From your 7th semester you become eligible to get placed and it is mandatory to get internship before you get placed which the college helps you to get and around 400-500 companies visit, and a good amount of offers are made by them. The average package stands somewhere around 11LPA -12LPA and the highest goes to 50LPA-60LPA and the median stands around 9-10LPA.

Course Curriculum Overview:

As I'm in 1st semester. I will update you after my exams. But one good thing is that from this year, internals and externals will hold same weightage i.e., 50/50 If you can score more than 45% in internals which wouldn't be that big of a deal because they'll ask most the questions from class notes. Most of the faculties are average I would say. But some are good professors too. I chose CSE because I find these topics interesting since junior school. And everyone is just jumping into cse is a reason too lol.
