7 out of 10. it is ok ok college, can be improved by upgrading faculty, study system, rules and mess food. I would say it is good as compared to other colleges in India. Still a lot of work needs to be done to improve it
Course Curriculum Overview
Course is Ok Ok as other colleges, i wont say it much useful as its too outdated. exams are held semester wise. 2 semesters in year. there are mid term exams once every semester and final exsms at end of semester
Placement Experience
placements are average, not too good snd not too bad either. a hardworking student can easily secure an average placement, while for a good placement one has to rely upon out-campus placements. placement policies are really very bad and placement cell uses cheap tricks to increase numbers instead of quality
College Events
there are 2 annual festivals one cultural and another technical. Hill ffair is cultural festival of our college and nimbus is technical festival of our college. apart from these there are other several events like software freedom day, literacy mission etc.
Fee Structure And Facilities
my fee of semester is 45000. mess fee is around 25000 per semester. which sums up around 1.5 Lakhs per year. the current fee structure for new comers is high, its more than 2Lakhs(80 k for sem college fee and 25 k hostel fee per sem ) per year. i would say it is expensive for an average indian family.
Fees and Financial Aid
our college is good at providing various scholarships. student walfare cell is really good and helpful, i really appreciate the faculty appointed there. there are several schemes based on category basis, minority basis and economic basis. only bad thing is that economic based scholarships are too outdated, they haven't updated the margins from several years
Campus Life
they are good, it depends on student, if he is interested he may get indulged in these things, if he wants to stay away he can totally ignore all these things, there is good opportunity to explore yourself.
Hostel Facilities
most of students opt for hostel. hostel fee is 20000 to 25000 per semester. rooms and infrastructure are good. mess food is just OK OK. hostel timings and restrictions are not good, especially for girls.
Alumni/Alumna
alumni and seniors are helpful, they really help juniors and guide them nicely. ragging is almost nil in this college. there might be some seniors who are bad to juniors, exceptions exists everywhere.
Admission
I got admission through JEE Mains. I scored 204 marks in jee mains and got admission in Computer Science and engineering dual degree. later on i was getting chance to upgrade my course and college but i decided not to change it because i was interested in this course
Faculty
i would say except few teachers, faculty isn't upto the mark. there should be an entrance exam for faculty too. few teachers are helpful and understanding while other are stubborn and just enjoying the government job.
