Average College where you have work a lot

College encourages you to do a lot of projects and MOOC courses which will help you in your placements. There is also a entrepreneurship cell which aims at building young entrepreneurs.They also have started training the students for coding and aptitiude before you sit for your placement.

The course curriculum is decided by VTU which frankly is a lot on theory side rather than on practical side. That is why many students fail to land up in corporate world because they only know the book but no actual content which is required in the field. The exam COMEDK is a mediocre kind of paper i.e. neither too hard nor too tough.

Placements is not an issue for CS and IS students as most of the companies look for students in these branches. Other branches like ECE or EEE do end up with jobs but very few. Mech and Civil students hardly end up getting jobs as none of the core companies come to our campus. Internship is provided by companies in 3rd and 4th year with a stipend varying from anywhere between Rs 10000 to Rs 25000.

For COMEDK students the fee structure is ?2 Lakhs approximately per year and for CET students is different ( dont know the exact amout) but is less than a Lakh per year. The fees for Mangaement quota is determined at the time of admission.

If you apply in this college on the basis of your boards results instead of the competitive exam score you might get a scholarship. I guess the college has tie up with SBI for loan. There are also some scholarships which are usually for 4th years.

A lot of extracurricular activities happen which each of the clubs in our college organise. Most active sports of our college are Cricket and Basketball. Both the teams are above average. Labs are there for every thing but the issue is that they are a bit old and so are slow at running any heavy task.

There are two hostel: NRI and Old both for boys and girls. The NRI is well maintained and is quite clean with sophistication and has single and 2 sharing. However the old hostel is having 3 and 4 sharing and is not that great. There are sometimes issues with the washroom and sometimes with drinking water.

Previously I dont feel that the college has a strong or great alumni network as they dont keep in touch or organise any events to be in touch with them. Gradually they have realised its importance and have started maintaing good relations with the alumni which might them in the long run.

I gave the COMEDK exam which got me a rank of about 10k which resulted in getting me this college according to my rank. I had to come to Bangalore to do the verification of documents and later got a receipt from COMEDK which when I shower to the college admission department, gave me admission.

Most of the faculty of the college of are highly qualified though only some are from highly renowned institutes and most of them are only there to teach you what is there in the syllabus and nothing more.
