Remarks
School Of Engineering, CUSAT is a really good place to be at if you want to spend a reasonable amount of money for getting a graduation and want to get a good campus placement.
Entrance Preview
I took the all India entrance exam conducted by CUSAT itself. I got a score of 6526 in the exam. The main reason I opted for the college was because in Kerala the number of engineering colleges are just immense and if you don't have certificate from a really good institution it doesn't matter at all. CUSAT stands out in this factor as it is one among the top 10 colleges in Kerala and also a place to opt for if you are interested in campus placements.
Course Curriculum Overview
The course curriculum is not the best but good.It is well updated and is good enough to meet the present requirements but some subjects can be omitted is what I feel.
Internships Opportunities
I don't think any company came this year for internships so I can't comment on the stipend offered many of the students are doing internships someplace outside the campus.
Placement Experience
The placement department is where CUSAT stands tall as various companies have visited this college and many of the students have secured placements. This particular companies which have visited our college include TCS, WIPRO, MU SIGMA etc have visited our campus and they offer a good average package of around 5 Lakhs.
College Events
There are various Arts and Tech fests conducted and there is quite a good amount of participation seen in them. Moreover they are well arranged by the students itself and are quite big. The art fest is usually conducted in the open air auditorium and its fun atmosphere out there. Talking about the tech fest it focuses on bit of technical creativity of students and there are various events for entertainment purposes also held such as Gaming sessions, Minute to win it etc to mention a few.
Fee Structure And Facilities
The fee structure is quite good and reasonable for B.Tech courses there are free seats (if the rank is good in the entrance exam) and paid seats free seats cost around 80,000 per year and paid ones cost around 1.6 Lakhs per year.
Fees and Financial Aid
I have not availed any scholarships offered by the college but I have heard about some of my friends who have successfully availed the MOMA scholarship.
Campus Life
The campus life is quite good there is always a sense of friendship, loudness, liveliness inside the campus there are various cultural organisations and NGO's working here also the clubs like chess, nature, etc the campus also hosts various talks, seminars, Olympiad which the student can attend to gain some insight about various matters there are students from various parts of country and it is something special to mingle with them and experience their culture.
Hostel Facilities
The hostel facilities are neither too good nor too bad the hostels are well distributed around the campus and are easily accessible for the students there are separate hostels for boys and girls in a room there may be 2 students in general with separate b
Alumni/Alumna
The alumni network is quite good there are various alumni organisations also with good amount of registered candidates seniors have always been there for us in case of any emergency many of us took their help and advice for preparing our mini project and so on.
Exam Structure
The exam structure is not bad the time is also well distributed usually the semester examinations are conducted during the months of November and April the lab exams are mostly held before the University exam and its date may vary in some emergency cases
Faculty
Talking about the faculty most of them are qualified people with a Ph.D degree but there are also a few guest lecturers most of them have a friendly approach and are keen on teaching.
