Campus life is beautiful, campus is beautiful, places to roam around are beautiful, because its location is in heavenly land of Himachal Pradesh. Negative thing is the reach of this place. Airport and railway station are far away. Transportation is only available by road.
Course Curriculum Overview
Course curriculum is designed under the guidance of experts from different parts of naton and faculty viewing the needs of society. Exam pattern includes 50 marks of end semester examinations, 30 marks of mid semester examinations and 20 internal marking. Different courses are given different credits and according to that CGPI is calculated.
Placement Experience
Placements are really good in the college. Many national and multi national companies visit campus for the placement drives. Internship opportunities are also provided by various companies for the students. Hoghest placement in the last academic year was 1.2 Crore per annum.
College Events
Throughout the year various events are celebrated in the college but main events are HILL'FFAIR which is cultural fest and NIMBUS which is technical fest. Hill'ffair is celebrated in odd semester while Nimbus in even semester. Both events are one of the best events in North India.
Fee Structure And Facilities
Fee structure is nearly 75000 per semester and for hostel approximately 25000 per semester. There are special provisions for SC/ST students and for students whose family income is less than 5 lacs,which makes fees feasible for almost each and every student.

Various scholarships are provided by various government and non government agencies which are regularly get updated in institution web site. Loan facilities are also provided by banks for students who are in the need of that.
Campus Life
Labs are properly equipped with all tools and instruments. Sports are also played in proper manner in the campus. Inter branch, inter year tournaments are aldo organised in the campus of different sports. College teams also goes in various tournaments outside the college.
Hostel Facilities
Hostel infrastructure are excellent and are in good conditions. Mess facility is also good. Common rooms and various indoor games are given in all hostels. There is some problem of water during 1 and half month which is also sorted by hostel authorities by providing water tankers and mineral water bottles. Otherwise all basic amenities are provided.
Alumni/Alumna
There is a alumini cell in the campus which takes care about the alumini network of the institute. Senior-junior culture is quite well in the college and seniors are ready to help juniors in all fields like studies, sports, extra curricular activities, etc.
Admission
Admission to NIT Hamirpur, a college that comes under MHRD is purely on the basis of JEE MAINS Paper-1 organised in month of January and April every year by National Test Agency (formely, it was organised by CBSE, Delhi in the month of April). After the result every student who appeared in test is provided with the rank. JoSSA is a central counselling portal for allocation of seats into IITs, NITs, IIITs and other GFTIs of the country. Choice filling is online and after that 7 rounds and 2 special rounds of counselling is organised. If you get seat at JoSSA, you will be admitted at college with further formalities.
Faculty
Each department has well experienced faculty members with good experience in research and industrial field. They are ready to help students at every pointvdo that they can excel in their field of interest.
