Remarks
College is continuously increasing its quality in every aspect. The infrastructure is continuously being developed. Ragging has been almost eliminated and in some years it will be fully finished. Although being a government college the development is a little bit slow but then also college is getting in good conditions.
Course Curriculum Overview
The course curriculum is similar to most of the engineering colleges of India. It's simply a Four years course. The first year is common for all the ten streams of the college. After that branch paper comes from the third year. There are in total eight semesters. You have to clear all the semester exams for getting the B.Tech degree.
Placement Experience
Placements are averagely good in comparison to other engineering colleges. Since I am from the metallurgical engineering branch, the previous year all the students were offered jobs in campus placement of metallurgical engineering. Placements of other branches are also very good. Many big brands and companies come at the campus selection offer placements to many students. On average 70 percent students are offered jobs in campus placement. My college does not provide internships.
College Events
There are many events organized in college by different clubs in collaboration with each other in the college. Different cultural fests, technical fests, sociocultural fests are organized at different times of the year. In a few days, an event by TEDx is going to be organized in which various successful persons from the world will be called and they will motivate the college students. Branch is also very popular cultural fest of the college. Sandhan is the technical fest of the college.
Fee Structure And Facilities
The fee structure is very feasible. It can be easily financed by any middle-class family easily. The fee is very low. It only costs 10 to 15 thousand per year as college fees( without including hostel fees). Hostel accommodation is also very cheap in comparison to other colleges.
Fees and Financial Aid
Yes, there are some tfw seats available for financially weak students in every stream of the college. They do not have to pay the college fees. Also, ekalyan scholarship is provided by the state government for financially weak sc, st, and obc students. Also, various scholarships are provided by the alumni organization of bit Sindri on various conditions. Banks also provide loans easily as it is a very reputed college in the country.
Campus Life
Sports activities are very much promoted in the college. The sports club is very active and various sports tournaments are regularly organized in the college. The infrastructure of labs are a little bit poor but our new director is continuously working on labs and infrastructure of the college and it will be developed very much in a few years. Also, Siemens labs are available in the college where students can easily learn free of cost many skills in the vacation. It is an initiative by the state government to promote the quality of education in the college.
Alumni/Alumna
The Alumni network of bit is very strong. As it is one of the oldest colleges in the country, so its alumni network is very strong and some alumni are in a very good position in the country. Seniors are very helpful as they always guide you throughout the college. Although a little bit of difference is there but then also they are very helpful.
Admission
First I appeared in the entrance test i.e JCECE And then after councelling I was allotted this college BIT Sindri. It is the only government engineering college of the JHARKHAND government. In my time separate entrance exam was conducted by the state government for admission to engineering colleges of JHARKHAND. The name of the entrance test was JCECE. But now they are directly taking admission on the basis of jee mains through online councelling.
Faculty
The faculty of the college is very good. Although it is a government college the professors are hard working and are always available for your help. Mostly the faculties are IIT post-graduated or are pursuing Ph.D. from IITs.
