Remarks
Asmita college is an architectural institutes in Thane accredited from NAAC. It is a comparatively newer institute, growing at a rapid rate. But still it is in its nascent stage. Especially in terms of placements. Although the faculty standard has improved significantly over the past years, there is still a lot of room for improvement.
Course Curriculum Overview
The course curriculum at our college was flexible and dynamic. We weren’t limited to the classroom teachings, instead we were supplied with constant examples of practical applications of our learning. The course curriculum consists of both classroom lectures and studio classes. The exams were held biannually.
Placement Experience
There is no placement process, as such, in the institute. Most of my batch mates either started working on a freelance basis. While rest joined some other associates.
College Events
The college used to organize many Seminars and workshops from renowned industry specialist. Cultural events include sports day, annual day, Independence day, Teacher’s day, etc. Annual exhibition was also organised in the college campus where students presented their prototype model.
Fee Structure And Facilities
The first year fee of the B. Arch plan was just over 1 lac. The facility provided were quite limited. The building and the infrastructure was good, the campus was wi-fi enabled. The classrooms and the labs have been revamped lately.
Campus Life
Campus life was good. Ragging is prohibited in the college premises. College has set up different departments for grievance resolution of the students. Overall, the campus life was quite friendly.
Alumni/Alumna
Seniors were quite helpful and gave us tips before exams and before the placement process. Now the college has set up a registration link for better connectivity among the alumni.
Admission
The admission to the First Year of Bachelor’s Degree in Architecture in Maharashtra is done through DTE’s Centralised Admission Process (CAP). The listing process at DTE is done on the basis of the NATA scores.
Faculty
All faculty members were qualified but only few were able to convey their message effectively. Overall everyone helped us whenever we required them to.
