Entrance Preview

I had participated in NATA(entrance exam of Architecture). Asmita was the last option which i selected from the list of the college. I got admission in Asmita college. We were the second batch of the college, hence the facilities and everything which was provided to us was really good.

Course Curriculum Overview

We have five year of the college based on yearly semester pattern. First two year of the college was internal exam whereas the final three year we have University exam and the jury. All five year of the course was structured for overall development of the students.

Internships Opportunities

No, the college did not provide the internship. In our final year we have Internship compulsory as the part of the curriculum.

Faculty

As we were the second batch of the college, we weren't blessed with the good faculty. But as the college start growing and the pressure of the student increased, new faculty with great experience and qualification become the part of the college.

The reason i choose architecture because it fascinates me how a place can be developed into holistic place interests me . The curriculum has some good inputs but it doesn't make you industry ready extra efforts should be taken to learn advance softwares extra classes newer research etc discussion on advance technology becomes important in modern age how architecture is changing is not discussed

Course Curriculum Overview:

The frequency of exam is twice a semester and good enough. Guest lectures are good and helpful for the future preparation.There must be a change in teaching styles of the faculty and more site based experiments through the course for better understanding than only in class studies , the beauty of historical buldings made me wonder about this course

Placement Experience:

For architecure departments, usually there are no placements, but since this Institute is autonomous, they have startes conducting placements drive. Last year 10/12 students were placed in good firms all over banglore, pune, kolhapur. I plan on applying to different firms all over Maharashtra and would also hope to get placement via college since the packages that are offered are good. Placement percentage is anywhere between 12-15%. The highest package offered was around 5,40,000, average package for a architecture student would be-around 3lakhs.

Placement Experience:

There is no campus placement for architecture students. After completion of the degree, one can apply for jobs or opt for masters. Architects get an average starting salary of 20-25 thousand. The course is pretty expensive including college fees and printing prices. One can also open a private firm and earn enough money. There are very few open students getting placed. My plans after getting a degree are to apply for masters. For a teaching job, one must complete masters.
