Mumbai University has strict and alert security 24 hours.The infrastructure is a little old, but the quality of education and living insude the lush green campus of the university is a blessing for students foming from outside.The faculty and the administrative staff is top noch.The teachers are hoghly qualified and only impart quality education.

The course curriculum is very interesting and engaging, we spend a lot of our time on analysis and research and our teachers always motivate us to think out of the box.Exams take place two times a year,The question papers are set in order to test the understanding of the student in the particular subject and the apt application of the same.

The college does not provide internships or job placements as such but students coming here usually wish to pursue Phd after their MA and the teachers provide great deal of guidence to the students for the same.Students who wish to pursue a career in teaching appear for NET and if they clear it with very good scores and attain the top ranks they are given a JRF(junior research fellowship) where the government sponcers the student for their research.Also the students can join the department for further research.

The University of Mumbai conducts many events every year.Most of the events are for the students to learn new things.Every year almost all the departments conduct various workshops where every student is welcome to come and learn.Seminars for various languages and certificate and diploma courses are conducted.

The fee stuructur is very feasible, My entire MA costed me around 10,000 only.My fees in my first year was around 5,600 and in the second year it was 4,400.And this was inclusive of the tuition fees, the access to the gym, the library, The workshops and all the other facilities available in the campus

I am only aware of the JRF i.e the junior research scholarship which is provided to the students who score very well and attain the top 3 ranks in NET.After this the student can work as an assistant professor snd at the same time work on his/her research project.

The university campus has a gym and a library and sports complex, basketball court and so much more.The department has all the up to date apparatus which is essential for the students to learn.Other than that the students in the campus are welcome to participate in theatre clubs and music and dance clubs.Every month a group of students coming from various departments perform plays and dance and music performances.

The hostel infrastructure is very good.The conditions inside are very hospitable.The hostel staff makes sure that the hostel environment is clean and homely for the students coming from outside.The security here is very strict and prompt assuri ng the safety of all the girls living inside.There is a canteen inside the hostel where the food is no less than home food and the prices are very reasonable and easily affordable for all the girls.

They are very helpful.Even though the alumni has passed out from the college years ago they still visit the college whenever any kind of workshop is organized by the department.During these workshops its not just the Guest or the teacher talking and the students listening, but its more of an interactive session where all the alumini, seniors, juniors and teachers het together and have hours of discussion sessions making learning a great experience for all.

The mode of applying for the course is online.The Department of linguistics,Mumbai University keeps its website updated.At first I cisited the department and wrote a letter to the HOD for admissions, after which I received updated on mail regarding the exam dates, I gave the exam, cleared it and then we filled the offline admission form and then an eligibility form because I come from a different university

The faculty as per my experience is the best I have had in my entire schooling life.The classes are conducted in a seminar room where the teachers prepare presentation for each topic for the better understanding of the student.They conduct various seminars and workshops to make this experience of learning an interesting one for us.The professors are very prompt and systematic in terms of all the activities hapoening in the department.The lectures are planned keeping in mind the psychology of the student.The best part is that the student teacher ratio is 8:1 which helps the teacher to focus on all the students equally.
