SIMC best college for Journalism

I think the college management team is doing a fantastic job. They are woking day and night to ensure that the college is running efficiently.

The curriculum was groomed to provide industry-specific knowledge to the students, industrial visits were organized for students. Students got the opportunity to observe how the industry works in real, students got the opportunity to visit the Radio Mirchi station in Pune and prime focus technologies in Mumbai.

Placements are decent, PFT, Viacom, Zee are the recruiters to name a few. I got a chance to intern with prime focus technologies in mumbai

Almost every festival was celebrated which includes Ganesh chaturthi, Vishwakarma puja, Holi, Deepawali, Dussehra. College also organizes an annual fest called Fest o Comm in which well-established performers were invited to perform, well-known singers, dancers, standup comedians are to name a few

The fee structure is a bit expensive, the total fee for a 2 year program is 10 lakh eighty thousand, no there is no additional charge or fees charged in order to secure admission to my course and yes the college provides complete transparency in the fee breakdown

The scholarship opportunity is offered by the college for the ones having a bright academic background as well as who are good in sports and who have represented their state/district in a national or international level game. The procedure is to fill the requisite form after securing admission at the college along with all the relevant certificates

Extracurricular activities included sports dance, college had a big swimming pool a cricket and a football ground a tennis court to name a few, many workshops were also conducted by industry experts from time to time and as far as gender ratio is concerned it is in a balanced state as I have never observed any kind of discrimination on the basis of cast creed race and ethnicity.

the college has a directory of all the pass out students and also the college keeps in constant touch with them the college also has a cell named alumni relations cell and they are helpful

The admission process consists of a written test called Symbiosis entrance test then the short-listed candidates have to go through a Personal Interview. Then a total of 60 candidates are selected on the basis of merit which consists of 30 each for journalism and AV Specialization respectively. I chose SIMC because it has maintained its ranking and also holds the privilege to be among the best media and communication colleges in our country

Lecturers hold relevant industry experience. The guest lecturers who are invited are the ones who are already working in the industry. The permanent faculty are among the well-known faces of the industry so students are fortunate enough to get in-depth knowledge in the field
