None, I feel lucky to have studied here and will recommend this university wholeheartedly especially for B.Tech as I consider it is one of the best in India.

Course curriculum and syllabus are some of the best you will find under WBJEE. It is 1000 times better than MAKAUT and a bit harder when compared to the JU syllabus. The average GPA you will get here is 7-8 which will be equivalent to 9-10 GPA in MAKAUT. Luckily the faculties are brilliant and guide you in every possible way you can imagine.

Training and Placement Officer (TPO) got hired this year finally and placement figures have gone up too. The median salary is 6lpa, max is 12lpa by Uber (on-campus) & 25lpa (off-campus) by any top dept like CSE/IT get recruiters like Microsoft, uber, TCS digital, Mindtree, LNT Infotech, etc.

Fests are not as popular as that of JU or KGEC but decent enough. Frequent hackathons, seminars, and workshops are conducted to constantly improve and learn new skills. And college is located just in the heart of Kolkata which is called the city of joy.

The entire 4year B.Tech fees will cost you about 30k INR. It is the 2nd cheapest univ. in West Bengal or probably in India after Jadavpur. The first sem fees are like 5k after that sem fee varies from 2k to 3k INR. As far as Return of Investment goes it can be considered among top universities in India.

The gender ratio is very good at Calcutta University as you will at least find 3-4 girls among 10 students and the ratio is almost 50:50 for dept. like chem eng. Labs are decent. Infrastructure is very good for a gov. institute and the kind of money they are charging. All classrooms are air-conditioned with projectors and desks/boards etc. Too happy with infra.

Yes, the alumni network is absolutely huge as the CU is considered one of Univ. in Asia... The CU tag will make your life way easier if you apply for off-campus jobs later or apply for foreign univ. for masters/Ph.D. You will feel immense joy and pride in your alma mater once you graduate from here.

Gave WBJEE and got under 3k rank. Applied through E-counseling. The entire admission process took a couple of months but it was easy to follow. The process is similar to that of JEE Mains where you have to first give your choices on the website of WBJEE and then wait for 3 rounds and colleges/dept. will be allotted to you according to your rank.

The faculties are best you will find under WBJEE (Even better than JU). All of them have PhDs from IITs/ISI Kolkata/Princeton/UCL/Ju/CU etc has some kind of postdoc experiences. According to CWUR Quality of Faculties in CU has been ranked among the top 300 World and this year QS Rankings also rated 100% in this category. They will encourage you to do research more than anything.
