Vemu Institute of Technology

What is the latest program that you are offering in Vemu that will help students outperform and stand apart from the crowd?

We are offering a variety of courses in our college both conventional and IT-related programs and the latest courses that we are offering are Computer Science and Technology, Computer Science and Engineering, and CS Computer Science and Engineering with Data Science and Computer Science and with Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning.

What are the factors that make this program the best for the students to opt for?

The factors that are affecting this program's success again depend upon the quality of input of the students, the quality of the faculty, and the quality of resources not only human resources, the technical manpower required as well as the laboratories and software are most important.

What will you say are the “best practices” in the course you’re offering?

Because we are autonomous, we are focusing more on the skills of the students. In the IT industry, not only knowledge, but skill is equally important. In a way, the skills of the students when they are in college itself are most important.

What are some valuable insights into the program that you are offering at your institute?

To make this we are connecting various programs like the student's MNR or guest lectures, expert lectures from various industries, and industry professionals, and also a student-centric program where the student has to perform all the tasks by designing these four tasks. So these are the valuable insights we are offering at our college.

How does the program ensure that students are being prepared for the future?

A relevant job should be the most important. For placement, we have to have a lot of additional programs. So we are preparing the students in all aspects not only by giving a knowledge, the required skills, knowledge through several professors in eminent professors in that field and skills through experts from the industry and also the other skills like life skills like communication skills that could by eminent personalities. We want to just make each student accomplished.

What are you most proud of in your career so far?

In my twenty years of experience as a principal or in administration preparing thousands of students, I got seven years of experience as Head of a school in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia and I was the principal of the engineering college. Sometimes we visit the Institute of Technology and CRAD College of Engineering. All this expertise helped me in assessing the student capabilities and facade capabilities and accordingly mold them towards their successful career. However, without having a proper team no task is possible.

What strategy do you employ for building an efficient work team?

Each college needs to have a good team. For this, we employ the best faculty with the right attitude. We also see the attitude not only the knowledge of the faculty but also sort of reward them. For team building, we provide various programs and also we give them various incentives for the faculty to have a dedicated mentality towards the college.

What was the most challenging task that you faced in your career so far, and what did you learn from it?

So several challenges are there when it comes to engineering education. Clearing, the college itself is a challenge. The students’ IQ levels at the entry level are much lower and some of the students are not even suitable for engineering, but only because of their empathy and enthusiasm, and by under the society’s influence they are joining the colleges.

What do you find most difficult about being a Dean-Industry?

The most critical and challenging job we have faced and are facing. And also success means 100%, not 50 percent, 60% because most of the colleges are saying we have 100% placements. But that means that those who have completed and graduated, are getting placed but graduating students are only 50% of the intake. In such a case, what about the remaining 50%? This is the problem here. The most challenging task is the normalization of the input behaviour.

What is your vision for VEMU in the next Five years?

So our vision for VEMU Institute of Technology is to give the best education in this region because our region is a lower middle-class region. You know parents give the best education to students who join our college and also get the international reclamation for the college so that our students when they go to any field are accepted. That is our main intention. We already have our place in one of the top engineering colleges in Andhra Pradesh and Chittoor district. We want to maintain it and we want to prepare the students with selfless dedication and motivation.
