Faculty

Most of the faculty members are cooperative only a few like the hod of my department are a bit arrogant. Rest are very helpful and they,ve helped me with my academics. Faculty is approachable but if you keep asking for help very frequently they might get a bit irritated and that would backfire on you. The best teacher in terms of teaching for me is adinath puri sir they teach us java. Their teaching methods are very practical and they make sure to focus on each and every point of the subject. All the faculty is well qualified and teach good. There are total of 5 subjects each semester. Mathematics for machine learning, microprocessor programming, java programming, data communication and networks, environmental education. I found mathematics and microprocessor programming hard. But if you work hard on those you can clear those subjects too. Each semester lasts 6 months. In which regular tests are held. And a main exam at the end of the semester. Its not hard if you study well enough. Most of the students pass out but a few do fail and they are not permitted for the next year. The course curriculum is very relevant to my course

Course Curriculum Overview

The curriculum is hard but interesting and very relevant to my course. If you study well enough and plan it well. You,ll find it very interesting. Java and microprocessor programming are the subjects i liked the most since its very interesting and i find it very useful for the job. There is no need for improvement in the curriculum. Its totally relevant to my course. Only thing i dont like much is the rough schedule. 7 lectures per day with each lecture lasting for around 1 and half hour which is a lot and its exhausting. Tests are held regularly. Sometimes once a week and sometimes once a month. The most important exam is the one that is conducted at the end of every semester. Those scores matter a lot

Faculty

The faculty to students ratio is 1/25 means one faculty for 25 students. Faculties have not much knowledge about their subjects and sometimes failed to teach students. Also relationship with students is rood and strict. There are few facilities are good in college. Ankita tiwari mam working for 5+ year for college and really good teacher and guide. Also there are few rood and strict mams in College. There are many exams taken by our college like subject exams , mid exams and final semester exams . But I not feel that exams are very tough. There is average number of students these are not able to clear their exams.

Course Curriculum Overview

In today's world IT sector is growing and this course really help to get the job in this field. The course is well planned and solving real world problems but in some specific areas need improvement . Like they still teaching old technologies angular and c/c++ that not really needed. The frequency of exams is very fast and it should be slow. There are three main exams in one semesters and you want clear your backlog and kt in running semester exams. So make it very difficult to pass in exams

Placement Experience

Placement strategies is different for every department. Like most computer engineering students wants higher education. Mechanical, civil and automobile students not that much interested in higher education. Teachers of placement department are very active in there work they gave us more information and counseling like who have to get higher education and who gave to be placed. Students fills a google form which os about students placements, according to that they know how many students are interested in placement and higher education. Companies like TATA, VPRO and other are came for campus in our college various tests and interviews are taken then salary and other things are discussed. Many students get pass in interview. The ratio is about to 30% students get placed every years from campus.

Course Curriculum Overview

The course offered a well-structured syllabus that aligned with industry trends and academic advancements. Inclusion of practical projects, case studies, or hands-on experience made it attractive. Availability of specialized electives that allowed for customization based on personal interests and career goals. The curriculum provides strong theoretical foundations but could integrate more real-world applications, such as industry collaborations or guest lectures. Practical skills are well-covered but may benefit from additional internship opportunities or live projects. The balance between conceptual learning and hands-on experience is decent but could be improved for certain technical subjects.

Course Curriculum Overview

The course that I have selected was Computer Engineering. I selected this course because it has no field work also it is more in demand then Information Technology Engineering. Computer Engineering has more detailed knowledge about hardware and software also it requires more coding. Now, talking about syllabus the computer engineering diploma syllabus is decided by MSBTE , the syllabus is fine it involves bothe theoretical and practical knowledge. But I think the course includes more electronic subjects in detail like EEC,DTE,MIC etc . Studying these subjects in detail is unnecessary rather more about core subjects and practical knowledge should be included. Examination and there timetable is fine.

Fees and Financial Aid

My category is SC and also my family income is within the mentioned limit so, there is a scholarship to which I am eligible and under this scholarship my course fees was being paid. There are different fees structures for the students belonging to different backward classes like EWS , NT etc. Also there is a concession for the students if there parents belongs to defense background. My other friends of open category has paid the whole amount as they did not fit in any criteria or scholarship, the amount was something nearly 68,000. For further the details the students willing to take admission in college can check the scholarships provided by government according to their caste, income etc.

Fees and Financial Aid

Hello, I am a student of Ambedakar campus l DSEU. I enrolled in full time diploma in computer science in 2024 . I am now entered in 2nd semester. The registration fee is 1000 rupees and the admission fees is 18,300 rupees which includes, AF: ADMISSION/ RE-ADMISSION FEE (500) DF: DEVELOPMENT FEE (1000) ECAF: EXTRA CURRICULAR ACTIVITIES FEE (250) EF: ENROLLMENT FEE (200) GCM: GENERAL CAUTION MONEY (1000) IDCF: ID CARD FEE (100) ITES: ITES FEE (250) LBF: LABORATORY FEE (1000) LCM: LABORATORY CAUTION MONEY (2000) LF: LIBRARY FEE (500) LICM: LIBRARY CAUTION MONEY (500) SF: SPORTS FEE (250) TF: TUITION FEES (4000) And 1st semester exam fees is 2000 rupees. I belongs to a scheduled cast category and there is no difference in fees of sc students and general students we paid same amount of fees like general students. There is no fixed fees of semester and other activities they can increase or decrease whenever they want. The faculty and facility for diploma students is not good at all. They didn't even provide us a proper I'd card. The administration of college is very poor as they even can't manage teaching schedules and also have shortage of teaching staff. And about the scholarship they don't provide much except government scholarships.

Campus Life

There are some annual festivals occur in my campus such as annual function and republic function but there is no technical festivals held. There is good range of books available in library and easily accessible also but there is no peace in library . There is no technical provisions within the classroom like projector and any kind of LCD screen. There are two sports game in my campus volleyball and Badminton for which annual tournament occur in campus. There is a music band in my campus which is good. So , my overall experience in my college is average.

Course Curriculum Overview

In order to grade a course curriculum based on relevance and completeness, you'd generally take the following into account: Relevance: Current Trends: Does the curriculum stay up to date with the newest industry standards, trends, and technologies? For instance, if the course is technology or business, does it cover new tools, methodologies, or challenges? Real-World Application: How effectively do the lessons and topics apply to real-world skills? Are there hands-on projects, case studies, or chances to apply what is learned to real-world applications? Comprehensiveness: Coverage of Key Topics: Does the curriculum address all the key concepts and skills required for a thorough understanding of the subject? Does it progress from basic knowledge to advanced subjects? Depth vs. Breadth: Does the syllabus strike the right balance between exploring a wide array of topics while also providing deep insight into fundamental areas? Sequencing: Is the course well-organized in a sequential manner so that students can sequentially acquire knowledge? If you're assessing a particular course, I would suggest comparing its syllabus with industry or academic benchmarks to determine relevance as well as comprehensiveness.

Course Curriculum Overview

First of all, I have chosen this course because I have a better understanding of subjects in the field of computers and also IoT is the subject of my interest. But also certain drawbacks in the particular course even though it is of my personal interest, i.e few of the subjects are irrelevant in this field. Eg. Engineering graphics skills. This subject is not at all required in the particular field as it is related to computers. Also the syllabus of some subjects is a bit outdated. Those are the only drawbacks that actually exist.

Campus Life

The college campus is quite active on the daily basis as the students eagerly participate in every activity and also the response from the college is also quite well. Student to faculty ratio is just average there are Teachers in my college but they are not experienced and they even don't know how to teach properly. But yes in my first semester I liked my maths teacher very much because she was so dedicated to her work or teaching she was punctual for time. Her name is Dr. Usha Gill she teaches very well as she doesn't do chit chat with students while teaching. Whereas other faculties of our college do not teach well and they do a lot of time waste while teaching. The teachers don't like are HOD (Trineshwar Kumar Bhagat) , Campus Director(Dr. Ghanshyam), Nidhi Mishra (Ms office, introduction to operating system), Mamta ma'am ( fundamental of computer system) these are the teacher of our college till now I met and found they don't do their work properly and do not do anything for student related issue which is their duty they just say students to compromise with it. In my college exam are conducted two times in a semester in the half of semester and the other in the last of the semester. T

Course Curriculum Overview

As technology is growing so the demand of computer engineering is increasing in market and industry there are a lot of job opportunity in this field that's why I chose to be here. The curriculum doesn't preparing us for real world applications this curriculum is just providing us theoretical knowledge. The areas which should be improved in our curriculum is the syllabus I think syllabus should be well planned bcs our syllabus is too short which skips the basic information and the steps that are required for the real world applications. And I think teaching method should bi visual representation i think teacher should use some smart technology to teach student they should teach practical subjects using projector on big screens so each and every student can learn properly. The frequency of time is twice a semester the difficulty level of exams is just above than moderate.

Ques. Hii, I am pursuing diploma from Sant Longowal Institute of Engineering and Technology, Longowal, Punjab. My branch is CSE . What is the future of diploma?

● Top Answer By Swati Mishra on 09 Jul 21

Ans. Along with your diploma course, you should pursue your degree course in engineering. In this competitive world having only one diploma will not serve the purpose. For this, you need a degree. As for the diploma, Sant Longowal Institue of Engineering and Technology is a good option. I have heard good things about their CSE diploma program from my friends who attend the institute. You can also go for other options if you have any. But I will suggest that don’t rely solely on your diploma, for job offers. Doing a degree after the completion of your diploma will certainly make you more eligible for future job offers. After the completion of your degree program, you will notice that you will get an ample amount of opportunities as compared to your diploma program. Overall Sant Longowal Institue of Engineering and Technology is good you will get ample amount of opportunity for growth and development.Read more
