Course Curriculum Overview

4

The course is designed keeping in mind the future world. Every subject has the modern concepts and industry friendly. Some subjects still include the basics such as C, HTML, etc. The curriculum is designed to make students skill ready and they can directly go for job after the Diploma. They can focus a little more on practicals for some subjects. They have already improved much and are top notch. The timing of exams is also perfect but the submissions are a little mess. There are more than 50 pages assignments which are just theory. They have not posed a big difficulty for me I guess but anyone who is attending all the classes and being present should be able to easily pass the exams.

Internships Opportunities

5

IBM, Mphasis, etc have given paid internship to the third year students. Many students make group projects such as vehicles and printers, etc. The roles offered for internships are assistant engineer, design engineer, etc. The tasks of the internship are focused on basics and it gives real world experience to the students and they can work efficiently after the diploma. The faculty helps students to get the internships.

Placement Experience

4

Students become eligible for campus placements after the 4th sem. Many companies visit and at least one person is hired by every company. Companies from UAE and international companies also make offers. Highest package was 9 lpa and average is 3.5-4 lpa. Only 5-10% students go for a job, others go for higher studies. I am too looking for a part time job with continuing higher studies. Overall the campus placement is good for students looking for a good job and pay. Most get hired as Assistant engineers.

Fees and Financial Aid

The yearly fees paid by me is Rs3500/- only. Exam fees is exclusive. The tution fees was cancelled because of TFWS(Tution Fee Waiver Scheme). The other fees are Development Fees 1000/-, Gymkhana fees 200/-, Library Fees 100/-, Internet and Email Fee 150/- , Annual Social Gathering Fee 400/-, Answer Book Fee 100/-, Data Processing Fee 500/-, Student Welfare Fee 100/-. This overall fees was this less due to OBC caste and TFWS scheme.

Campus Life

5

There are many festvals and Hackathons held every sem. But there are no specific dates to them. The library has all the books that are needed for the syllabus and curriculum. Also there are story books and fictional books. There are projecters in every class and digital boards in the labs. There are several grounds such as Basketball, football, volleyball grounds. And also sports fest. There is one club for every department. Such as ASCoD for computer department, etc. They conduct all the festivals and fests. This makes the campus life more fun and enjoyable.

Admission

I had applied for GPP as 1st preference but got it in second round. I got admission opportunity in AISSMS polytechnic college in the 1st round but it was expensive even after caste reservation. It was also not an autonomous college. So, i waited for 2nd round and got it. The admission process of my college was simple and nothing went confusing. Most of the students who get admission in my college have Caste and there is a high reservation for caste and students with disabilities or orphans. So, the change a student from general caste is very less and will need a high percentage for admission. The cutoff for OBC was 92%.And for general is 96 %. SC/ST students can get addmission even at 85%.Which is not completely fair but that's the rules. It was a good overall experience.

Faculty

4

There are 8 subjects and each has 1 teacher. So the ratio is 1:70 . The faculties are pretty approachable. Most of them are very friendly and help us with the studies. Though they are strict they still help us when we're in need. I liked Surdikar sir who teaches English for FY in GPP. He believes that English is not a subject that needs a theory explanation but needs practical experience. He always connunicated with the students in English to make them confident. I wouldn't like to mention the name of the sir I didn't like but he thought everything is based on marks and distinguished students by marks. Considered highest marks students as good and low marks as bad. This made me feel very bad. There are 2 unit tests each sem and then a term exam. The unit exam are of 30 marks each and their average is added to the term exam. The exams are not very hard but still some students fail to pass the exams. It is completely based on the notes given by faculty and the topics explained in Class. 10-15 out of 70 students fail exam everytime due to not studying or Attendance or Copy case. Some even fail due to submission marks. The course curriculum is relevant to the AI world. The technology is used for learning and also every practical we learn something new. This makes GPP a completely best college.

Night Life

4

I haven't really been at the campus at night but the grouds are open for the hostel students. And also the gyms. Hostel is closed after 7-8pm.and after that only students are allowed to leave on permission. The hostel's and college's safety is managed by police. And is very safe environment for study.

Placement Experience:

Placement strategies is different for every department. Like most computer engineering students wants higher education. Mechanical, civil and automobile students not that much interested in higher education. Teachers of placement department are very active in there work they gave us more information and counseling like who have to get higher education and who gave to be placed. Students fills a google form which os about students placements, according to that they know how many students are interested in placement and higher education. Companies like TATA, VPRO and other are came for campus in our college various tests and interviews are taken then salary and other things are discussed. Many students get pass in interview. The ratio is about to 30% students get placed every years from campus.

Placement Experience:

As I have heard people mostly get placements from this college itself. If not they go for their degrees and take placement there. The salary is mostly around 5 lakhs per annum which is decent enough for most students. According to the principal from the college if a student studies afterwards for degrees this number racks up to 18 lakhs.
