What are the best practices in the program you are offering?

Regular industrial visits, in-house projects, and guest lecturers are planned for students by inviting experts from industries/organizations/ Academic Institutions. Special classes for weak students beyond working hours are planned. GATE classes are planned for third and final-year students. Faculty are motivated to publish the Research papers in reputed journals (SCI/SCOPUS/UGC etc.). Faculty are encouraged to participate in FDPs organized by IITs and NITs Students and are encouraged to write NPTEL exams Certification Training Programs are conducted for students.

We ensure that the students are being prepared for the future by embracing Automation and Robotics in the curriculum and providing hands-on experience with advanced equipment, collaborations with industry leaders, and implementing an Interdisciplinary Approach. What were the challenges that you faced while inculcating this program in your curriculum?

The challenges include infrastructure for learning, large class size, assessment standardization, broad recognition, and understanding, expanding competency-based programs for faculty development, and students having a lot of programs like 3d printers, automobile prototyping, CNC machines using Aurdino, gear train design, etc.


What are the benefits and career options after pursuing this course?

There is a wide range of career options and exposure to global opportunities. There is scope for a broad range of knowledge through developing new technology and contributions to society. There are transferable skills in Automotive Engineering, Material Science/Engineering, Management, Robotics, Academics, Manufacturing, and also scope for Government Jobs.


What do you think are your roles and responsibilities?

Allocate the subjects to the faculty members well in advance before the commencement of the semester/year. Collect lesson plans from teaching staff before the commencement of class work and ensure that the information provided is by the format. Make sure that the timetables are prepared as per the guidelines given by the Principal and inform the faculty members and students at least one day before the commencement of the class work. Interact with students (Section-wise) of their branch for 15 days once, identify the problems, and find solutions in consultation with the Principal.

Instruct the faculty members to set the question papers as per instructions from the Principal and maintain confidentiality and also to evaluate the scripts promptly to meet the deadline given by the Principal. The evaluated answer sheets along with the award sheet filled by the concerned faculty member have to be submitted to the exam section as per the schedule given. Collect the student feedback about the faculty members subject-wise (for all the subjects taught to the students of their branch) and communicate the feedback to the concerned faculty members in the standard format as finalized by the Principal. Communicate a copy to the Principal. If any subject is handled by the other department faculty members, communicate one copy to the respective HOD. Guide the faculty members to improve their performance based on the feedback and also monitor whether the faculty members are improving from semester to semester.
