Dr. Harish Mittal is the Principal of the B.M. Institute of Engineering and Technology. He holds a B.E. degree in Computer Science Engineering, an M.Tech. degree in IT and a PhD in Computer Science Engineering. He is a renowned name in the field of technical education and has a rich experience spanning over 20 years. He has guided many research scholars to complete their projects and theses in the fields of Software Engineering, Soft Computing and Artificial Intelligence.

Dr. Mittal has worked as editor-in-chief of various reputed journals for many years. He has published various research papers in national and international journals of good repute and is indexed with Scopus and Web of Science. Moreover, he has attended and organised a lot of national and international conferences, seminars and technical workshops in association with professional bodies like IEEE. Furthermore, he has served in the research field as a general chair, speaker, session chair, reviewer, TPC member, guest editor, and in many other positions at various conferences, Faculty Development Program’s and journals.

Dr. Harish has filed and published five national and international patents in the areas of the Internet of Things, Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning. He has also authored textbooks on Discrete Mathematics and Computer Networks. His areas of interest are Database Systems, Discrete Mathematics, Soft Computing, Artificial Intelligence and Software Engineering.

I have remained connected with the education sector throughout my career due to a deep passion for learning and a commitment to empowering individuals through knowledge. All of these continually present new challenges and innovations that motivate me to continue in this field.

As the Principal of the BM Institute of Engineering and Technology, my leadership philosophy is centred on collaboration, inclusivity, and leading by example. My leadership style is characterised by open communication, adaptability, and a focus on continuous improvement. I aim to empower my team and students, with ethical values and a forward-thinking vision.

To strategize key programs and plans for the marketing and administration of our school, we take a comprehensive approach. We develop programs focusing on academic excellence, student support, and community engagement. This includes innovative marketing campaigns, administrative process optimisation, and strong industry and academic partnerships to maintain our institution's position as a centre of educational excellence.

The education systems in India and other foreign countries are structured very differently. In your experience, what can an inbound student gain from studying here in your institute?
