NIFTEM (National Institute of Food Technology Entrepreneurship and Management) is a deemed university in Sonepat, Haryana. It is managed by India's Ministry of Food Processing Industries (MOFPI). The Government of India has conferred the status of "Institute of National Importance" on NIFTEM in the year 2021. According to the NIRF 2022 rankings, NIFTEM has been ranked 127 in the engineering category. The institute conducts education and research in the food technology and management field.

Academic programs offered at NIFTEM include BTech, MTech, MBA, and Ph.D. courses. Admission to all the courses is based on the national-level entrance examinations. The institute accepts JEE Main entrance scores for granting admission to the NIFTEM BTech program. NIFTEM Sonepat: Key Facts

Ranking: NIFTEM has been ranked 148 as per the NIRF ranking in 2021 for the engineering category, and 121 in 2020.
Scholarship: Two types of scholarships are provided to eligible students from NIFTEM. One is the NIFTEM Merit Scholarship, which is paid to the toppers of each year and consists of a fee waiver and a monthly stipend for 10 months. Another is the NIFTEM Merit Cum Means Scholarship, which is given based on the financial situation of the student. This financial aid also includes a stipend for the 10 months duration and a fee waiver.
Fees: NIFTEM charges about INR 1,72,000 per year for B.Tech., INR 1,533,000 for MTech, INR 1,16,000 for Ph.D., and INR 1,85,000 for MBA, excluding hostel and other facilities.
Placements 2022: NIFTEM students are placed in top enterprises such as ITC, Mother Dairy, Mondelez, Amul, Dabur, Britannia, and many more with an average salary package of INR 5,00,000 to 6,00,000 per annum.

NIFTEM Sonepat: Admission Process

Admission to NIFTEM Sonepat is based on the scores obtained by the candidates in the national-level entrance exam. The application process at NIFTEM is initiated by filling up an online application form on the official website or by visiting the college campus. The final selection is based on the eligibility criteria and cutoffs released for the different entrance exam.

For BTech admissions, the institute accepts JEE Main cutoff ranks. Candidates who secure a valid rank in the JEE Main exam can complete their choice filling and seat locking through the JOAPS portal. Similarly, for MTech admissions, candidates need to qualify for the GATE entrance exam. Whereas, admission to the NIFTEM MBA program is based on the CAT/MAT or internal test for non-CAT/MAT students followed by GD/PI rounds.

NIFTEM Sonepat Scholarship

NIFTEM Sonepat offers several scholarship schemes to its eligible students. Students enrolled across the BTech, MTech or MBA programs are awarded with merit based scholarships. Interested students must ensure that they meet the eligibility conditions set by the college to avail of the scholarships. The detailed information regarding the NIFTEM Sonepat scholarship are provided below.

Merit Scholarship: The scholarship is awarded to the top three students on merit in B.Tech. and one student on merit in each MTech program. The NIFTEM Merit scholarship is mostly paid during the second semester. Following that, only the toppers of each year are awarded scholarships for the following year and for the subsequent years. It comprises a 10 months tuition fee waiver and a fixed monthly income.
Merit-cum-Means Scholarship: The merit-cum-means scholarship is awarded to MTech students strictly on merit-cum-means basis to needy students whose family income is not more than INR 2,50,000. MCM scholarships are awarded to 5% of students or six students in MTech (one each in all the five streams). Along with a fixed monthly income, it comprises a 10 months tuition fee waiver.

Our course curriculum focus on both practical and theoretical knowledge equally. Also sports are given equal importance as we have 10 days sports league Every year where main focus of every batch is to make their batch win.
All the professors are friendly and well educated. They will help you at every step of your life whenever you need them.
our university has a wide range of culture as students come from all over India and every Culture is given equal importance and all the festivals are celebrated.

Dislikes

campus is very strict regarding giving permissions for outing
it is compulsory to take hostel even if you live nearby
There could be more activities and classes in campus that promote soft skills and help students with interviews.

Academic structure and curriculum in the campus

Our course curriculum focus on both practical as well as theoretical knowledge. And the relevance of our subjects is totally related to the food industry. Our subjects help us get to know everything that is important for working in a food industry. Our labs are one of the best labs and consist of all kinds of equipments. Areas of improvement consist of soft skill development in students which can help them in GD/PI. We don't get any break in between exams and have exams frequently but they are related to what the professors teach so they don't seem much difficult.

Campus internship opportunities in various companies

Our college provides internship for students in 7th semester and we do get a lot of companies like mondelez, ITC foods, ITC abd, ABinbev, bakers dozen, rtc foods, bk Anand, etc. Roles offered in these internships include research and development, production ,operations, field job, quality control,quality assurance etc . In these internships projects are given based on students learning.

Various companies recruiting from the campus and highest package being offered

Placements rate is obviously not 100% but we do get companies and out of 150 students only 110 actually sit in the placement cycle and out of these about 70 students do get placed in good companies. The companies that visit consist of mondelez, Adani wilmar, zomato hyper pure, haldiram, loykaa, jubilent, baker's dozen, Lt foods,etc. The highest package goes up to 15 lakhs and average package is around 6-7 lakhs per annum.

Fees of the course per semester and scholarship

Our fee structure includes Tuition fees, medical fee, hostel fees ,laboratory fee, library fee, etc. And scholarships are available based on cgpa. Top three students get scholarship and fee concession is for lower castes and tuition fee waivers quota. The staff helps students if they have any query regarding fees. The complete cost of everything is approx 1lakh per semester.

Various events, sports and infrastructure of the college

We have an annual fest called edesia which is a 3 day fest and literally the best fest. Along with this every festival is celebrated in college be it northern or southern festival. Niftem is famous for its library, we have fully ac library which consist of hard copy as well as e books and have a huge availability of books. Talking about classrooms we have full ac classrooms and consist of comfortable benches and chairs along with projectors in every class. Sports are given huge importance and we have societies for everything.

What are facilities available in the college hostel?

Hostels are not very good. They are cleaned everyday but our rooms we have to clean ourselves and we have double sharing rooms. Hostels are affordable it is about 6k per semester. We are not given ac in hostel but basic facilities like study table bed almirah are separate for each roommate. The food is okay. We are given variety of food in both options veg and non veg.

Faculty and learning experience in the campus

The faculty to student ratio is about 1:15 and all the professors are very helpful to students. Also they are well educated mostly from iits and iims. Every professor loves to interact with students and help them in any way they can. Even while internships and placements professors help students by making them comfortable with the company's employee if they have friends over there. Overall teachers are good and our director is the best he knows how to manage students in such a way that they feel comfortable and he is the best guide.

What is the admission process of the college?

Admission process consist of jossa counselling based on jee mains score but now it has changed a bit neet students can also apply for Niftem. No special exam is taken for admission and after jossa counselling is done Niftem also offers direct admissions based on jee mains rank.

I was struggling for admission and trade of engineering this trade was unique and i was little interested in this so it was by my choice to take admission in this college which is now very helpful to me

NIFTEM have free of cost in campus gym for health.
NIFTEM have one of the best laboratory infrastructure .
One of the best place food related research

Dislikes

College timing can be improved more for easiness

Admission:

Basically the admission process is that we have to go throught tha josaa and csab counselling for admission and i have choosen this college because i wanted to choose something different from btech course and brances

About NIFTEM from my eyes

Likes

our university has a wide range of culture as students come from all over India and every Culture is given equal importance and all the festivals are celebrated.
Our course curriculum focus on both practical and theoretical knowledge equally. Also sports are given equal importance as we have 10 days sports league Every year where main focus of every batch is to make their batch win.

Dislikes

campus is very strict regarding giving permissions for outing

Niftem : Heaven for food technology branch

The classroom facilities the Air conditioner of the college is love , The Smart class facilities are very good .
The infrastructure of the college is dam good , the campus Is also beautiful and the ambient is also too good , with top class environment.

Admission:

The selection for the college is through JOSSAA by through JEE mains exam and the difficulty of the paper is world widly known , there no secondary exam for admision and direct Admision is also done by theh marks of jee mains .

Life at NIFTEM

Admission:

Admission is based on JOSSA counseling cut-offs, which vary every year. The 80th percentile would be safer. This is for b.tech and for M.Tech, there is an exam conducted every year, which is offline, which is an advantage.

The infrastructure and sports facilities are quite good

Admission:

The application process consisted of Josaa and Csab mainly. One has to give Jee mains to get in the college. As the admission process is a govt process, it's quite smooth and free of issues. The cutoff is around 75K rank in jee mains.

Can I take admission in NIFTEM by giving NEET base.

Admission to any course in NIFETM Sonepat is not done on NEET basis. There are other exams accepted for admission to UG and PG courses such as JEE Mains for B.Tech. and CAT/ MAT/ CMAT for MBA.

NIFTEM Sonepat does not offer specific scholarships for EWS scholarship. A student who follows the below conditions are awarded scholarships on merit basis:

The annual gross income of the parents must not be above INR Two lacs fifty thousand.
Student must have passed all the papers in first available chance.
All papers must have been cleared with 60% or more
He or she satisfy the merit and mean criteria for scholarship
