IIT JAM Exam Centers 2027

IIT JAM 2027 is going to be conducted in Computer Based Test (CBT) mode across India. Based on previous years, IIT JAM is expected to have 100+ exam centers spread across 8 IIT zones. IIT JAM 2027 Exam Center Allotment Process

IIT JAM follows a zone-based center allotment system that differs from most other national-level entrance exams. Understanding the zone rule before filling the form is important, as a wrong zone choice cannot be corrected later.

• Candidates select up to 3 exam cities during registration in order of preference.

After successful registration for IIT JAM 2027, the organizing IIT announces the allotted exam center from the candidate’s chosen cities. The allotted center for IIT JAM 2027 is going to be communicated through the IIT JAM Admit Card 2027, expected to be released in January 2027. Candidates can log in to the official JOAPS (JAM Online Application Processing System) portal using their Enrollment ID and password to download the admit card.

IIT JAM 2027 Exam Center Change: Is It Allowed?

IIT JAM does not permit candidates to change their exam center once it has been allotted. The organizing IIT enforces a strict no-change policy after the admit card is released. IIT JAM 2027 Exam Day Instructions

Candidates must follow the instructions below at the IIT JAM 2027 exam center on the day of the exam:

1. All candidates must carry the printed IIT JAM Admit Card 2027 to the exam center along with a valid original photo ID proof (Aadhaar Card, PAN Card, Passport, Voter ID, or Driving License).
2. Reach the exam center at least 60-90 minutes before the start of your session. The entry gate closes before the exam begins - latecomers are not permitted inside the exam hall.
3. If possible, visit the exam center one day before the exam to know the exact location and route.
4. Sit only at the designated computer system assigned to you. Switching seats or systems is strictly not allowed.
5. All IIT JAM exam centers are under CCTV surveillance, and biometric verification is conducted at the entry point.
6. Mobile phones, smartwatches, calculators, Bluetooth devices, earphones, books, notes, printed materials, and any electronic storage devices are strictly prohibited inside the exam hall. Candidates found with such items risk debarment from the examination.
7. A scribble pad is provided at the exam center for rough work. It must be submitted to the invigilator before leaving the exam hall.
8. Report any technical malfunction with the computer system to the invigilator immediately. Do not attempt to fix or restart the system on your own.
9. Candidates must not leave the exam hall without the invigilator’s permission during the examination.
10. Medically necessary items such as medicines or glucose (with a valid prescription) may be permitted subject to the invigilator’s verification and discretion.
