What is IIT JAM Application Form 2026?

IIT JAM (Indian Institute of Technology Joint Admission Test for MSc) is a national-level entrance test conducted annually by one of the IITs on a rotational basis. How to Fill IIT JAM Application Form 2026

The IIT JAM 2026 application was completed entirely online through the JOAPS portal at jam2026.iitb.ac.in. The process was in two phases: new registration followed by form completion and fee payment.

Phase 1: New Registration

1. Visit jam2026.iitb.ac.in and click "New Registration" in the JOAPS login section.
2. Enter your name, date of birth, mobile number, and email ID exactly as they appear on your Class 10 certificate.
3. Verify your mobile number and email address using the OTPs sent to each.
4. Set a strong password and note your Enrolment ID — it is required for all future logins, admit card download, and the JOAPS admission process.
5. Save your login credentials securely. IIT Bombay does not send the Enrolment ID or password by post or email after registration.

Phase 2: Fill the Application Form

1. Log in to the JOAPS portal at jam2026.iitb.ac.in using your Enrolment ID and password.
2. Fill in personal details: name, date of birth, gender, category (General / OBC-NCL / EWS / SC / ST / PwD), and nationality.
3. Select your test paper(s) — one or two papers from BT, CY, ES, GG, MA, MS, and PH. Only certain paper combinations were permitted; refer to the official brochure for the allowed pairs.
4. Fill in academic details: qualifying degree, institution name, year of passing or expected passing, and percentage or CGPA.
5. Select your exam centre preferences (up to 6 cities in order of preference).
6. Upload your photograph and signature in JPEG format within the permitted file size limits.

The following documents were required as scanned uploads at the time of filling the IIT JAM 2026 application form. Originals were verified at the time of admission reporting to the allotted institute.

Note: Upload a recent passport-size photograph with a white or light background and your face clearly visible. Do not upload edited, filtered, or studio-retouched photographs — these are rejected during scrutiny. The photograph you upload must match the one you carry to the exam hall.

Note: OBC-NCL category certificates must be non-creamy-layer certificates issued after April 1, 2025. Certificates issued before this date were not accepted for IIT JAM 2026.

IIT Bombay opened the IIT JAM 2026 application form correction window on October 31, 2025. The original closing date of November 10, 2025 was extended to November 13, 2025. All corrections were made online through the JOAPS portal at jam2026.iitb.ac.in. A correction charge of ₹300 per modification applied to most changes.
