Frequently Asked Questions

Ques: Is AILET tougher than CLAT?

Ans: Yes, AILET is considered a bit tougher than CLAT. The questions in AILET are more difficult, especially in English and Legal Aptitude, and the competition is higher because NLU Delhi has fewer seats. It also has negative marking, which makes it tougher.

Ques: Can we give AILET and CLAT together?

Ans: Yes, you can give AILET and CLAT together. The candidates just have to make sure that the dates for both the exams should not be clashing with each other. Many students take both exams to keep more admission options open.

Ques: Does NLU Delhi accept CLAT?

Ans: No, NLU Delhi does not accept CLAT scores. It only uses AILET for admission.

Other National Law Universities across India, like NLU Bangalore, NLU Kolkata, etc., use CLAT for their admissions.

Ques: How many attempts can we give for AILET?

Ans: There is no fixed limit on the number of attempts for AILET. You can apply every year as long as you meet the eligibility criteria for age and education.

Ques: Is AILET only for NLU Delhi?

Ans: Yes, AILET is mainly for NLU Delhi. Some private law colleges accept the AILET score, but for government law colleges, it is for NLU Delhi.

Ques: How many people give the AILET every year?

Ans: Every year, around 18,000 to 19,000 students take the AILET exam for admission to NLU Delhi.
