AILET Reservation 2026 for SC/ST Categories

A certified certificate from the appropriate authorities is required for the candidate to be eligible for a reservation under these categories. Scheduled Castes (SC) seats that remain vacant will be transferred to Scheduled Tribes (ST) and vice versa; no other reserved category will be awarded these seats. If there aren't enough qualified applicants from Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes in each category, the seats that remain open will be considered General and given to candidates from the General Category based on merit. The following is a list of authorized Competent Authorities that can issue certificates for Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes:

  • District Magistrate, Additional District Magistrate, Deputy Commissioner, Collector, Additional Deputy Commissioner, Deputy Collector, 1st Class Stipendiary Magistrate, City Magistrate (not below the rank of 1st class Stipendiary Magistrate), Sub-Divisional Magistrate, Taluk Magistrate, Executive Magistrate and Extra Assistant Commissioner;

  • Administrator, Secretary to the Administrator, or the Development Officer (Lakshadweep & Minicoy Islands).

AILET Reservation 2026 for OBCs

OBCs (Non-Creamy Layer) are allocated 22% of the seats. Candidates may apply under this category provided they have a valid OBC (Non-Creamy Layer) certificate issued by the appropriate authority under either the Central List of OBCs or the Delhi State List of OBCs (as announced by the Government of the National Capital Territory of Delhi).

  • The non-creamy layer certificate should be issued on or after 1st April 2024.
  • A list of approved Competent Authorities for the issuance of OBC certificates is as under: -District Magistrate, Additional District Magistrate, Deputy Commissioner, Collector, Additional Deputy Commissioner, Deputy Collector, 1st Class Stipendiary Magistrate, City Magistrate (not below the rank of 1st class Stipendiary Magistrate), Sub-Divisional Magistrate, Executive Magistrate.
  • Chief Presidency Magistrate/ Additional Chief Presidency Magistrate/ Presidency Magistrate
  • Revenue Officer not below the rank of Tehsildar and
  • Sub-Divisional Officer of the area where the candidate and/or his family normally resides.

AILET Reservation for Economically Weaker Section-EWS

The EWS certificate must be issued by April 1, 2025, at the latest. The Economically Weaker Section (EWS) has 10% of the seats dedicated for them. A valid Income and Asset Certificate issued by a Competent Authority is required in order to receive the advantage of reservation under EWS. Only the Income and Asset Certificate from one of the following authorities will be recognized as evidence of the candidate's EWS membership:

  • District Magistrate/ Additional District Magistrate/ Collector/ Deputy Commissioner/ Additional Deputy Commissioner/ 1st Class Stipendiary Magistrate/ Sub-Divisional Magistrate/ Taluka Magistrate/ Executive Magistrate/ Extra Assistant Commissioner
  • Chief Presidency Magistrate/ Additional Chief Presidency Magistrate/ Presidency Magistrate
  • Revenue Officer not below the rank of Tehsildar and

AILET Reservation for Persons with Disabilities

A horizontal reservation of 5% has been provided to the candidates belonging to the Persons with Disabilities (PwD) category in accordance with the provisions of “The Rights of Persons with Disabilities Act 2016‟. The candidates possessing a valid PwD certificate issued by the competent authority as per the provisions of “The Rights of Persons with Disabilities Act 2016 will be eligible to apply under this category.
