Campus Life

The university has a multitude of activities and clubs so you will have no issues in the department. The only problem is that unless you participate in the activities, you need to attend the classes. The campus is rather medium in size but efforts are being made by the higher authorities to upgrade their infrastructure.

Course Curriculum Overview

From my experience, since the university has various departments, the student to teacher ratio is very high. Moreover the curriculum is outdated and you could rather apply to this university as a last option.

Campus Life at SVNIT is very good. All the hostels at SVNIT are too good including the mess food. The new library building was the best. A big cricket ground, lawn tennis courts, indoor badminton courts, pool, gymnasium, etc were the facilities at SVNIT. Sparsh was the annual event of SVNIT. www.svnit.gov.in is the official website of the college.

Course Curriculum Overview

The course curriculum is good and the labs for it are so well and have all the instruments that are required for the practicals. The faculty-student ratio is as required. All the facilities are experienced and PhD holders. Exams are taken timely and in a proper manner.

Course Curriculum Overview

The course curriculum was in advance level as compare to Graduation but basic of the course was similar to graduation. You can relate most of the subjects from practical point of view in field observation. Exam structure was like class test , mid SEM and end SEM. Exam structure also depends on professors also as some professors used to take quizs whose marks may or may not be included in final marks depends on professors choice.

Faculty

Faculty of my college were experienced but in my opinion, some of faculties really don't know how to explain the things to make student understand. Some faculties used to teach by slides/Presentation and if suppose computer is not working then He is unable to teach nicely. Overall according to me, except few professors most of them don't want to teach nicely. Having knowledge and teaching nicely is two different things .

I got it through Spot Counseling in CCMT! Don't loose hope, try till the last end! You don't know what is waiting on the other side! First I got RS and GIS and then there was Institute sliding by which I got into water resources engineering! Ecen if you dont get seat in ccmt spot, you can wait till institute spot counselling. In this round, there is a high probability of luck to get a seat! All the BEST

Course Curriculum Overview

Course curriculum will be pretty hard at first as there will be hectic timetable all over the day! But if you can carry yourself everyday to those old classes, you will get used to them.. Not only that you will be rewarded with a few great friends. Classes will be from 9 AM - 4 PM and it varies depending on the timetable.

Ques. What are the placement opportunities after earning Master from IIT Bombay in civil engineering?

● Top Answer By Advaith Bhaskar on 18 Mar 23

Ans. IIT Bombay Civil Engineering branch is well known for its programs like Master, Dual Degrees, and BTech. Candidates with good profiles have a wide range of opportunities. BTech students are preferred for Non-core jobs whereas MTech students are preferred for MTech students.  Some jobs offered to students belonging to the Civil Engineering branch at IIT Bombay are Structural Designer : Top companies like Dar Al, Walter P Moore, and Thornton Tomasetti offer this role. Around 1 to 4 students are hired for such roles by each company. The most important criteria are CPI and your proficiency in software. Site Engineer : These roles are offered by companies like SP group, and LnT Look. You are tested usually on the basics of civil engineering and your ability to give long-term commitment. Management Trainee : Many civil companies offer management profiles also. Students with extracurricular backgrounds with reasonable academics are usually preferred for such roles. Some companies from the Middle East also offer such profiles. Teaching : In the last few years many private universities hire Masters's students directly for Assistant Professor posts. They are required to start their Ph.D. in less than a year.  Other Sub branches: Companies for water resources, Geo-tech, and Surveying offer very few roles. A few companies such as Dar Al open these profiles too. Non-Core Companies : Companies in the fields of investments, analytics, Banking, etc either don't open for M.Tech students or are not short-listed for interview.  100% placement at IIT Bombay is just a myth and you have to work hard to secure a job.Read more

Ques. How are the hostel and other amenities in the IIT BHU for M.Tech students?

● Top Answer By Aarjav Jain on 02 Mar 24

Ans. M.Tech students (boys) of IIT BHU are allotted Aryabhatta Hostel I (Block A&B) and II (Block C&D). It is a three story building that contains a large common room with TV, and a large dining hall. The hostel mess serves decent quality food. The hostel rooms are quite spacious, and they are two seaters. But whenever there’s a shortage of rooms, three students are allotted for each room, instead of two. But even then, there’s ample space for each occupant. Each block has a garden. The washrooms are cleaned every afternoon, and are equipped with handwash and geysers. The two hostel canteens have all the basic items (including the basic food items), and their timings are 1:30PM-3AM and 7AM-10PM. On each floor, in each block, hot and cold purified water is available in the coolers. Each occupant is given a wooden cot, a table and a chair, and each room contains two cupboards. Decent wifi facilities are made available. The hostel celebrates every major festival with enthusiasm. Overall, the M.Tech hostel at IIT BHU is quite decent.Read more

Ques. How are the placements for an M.Tech in civil (all specializations) at NIT Warangal?

● Top Answer By Karan Deshmane on 19 Aug 23

Ans. M.Tech Civil placements at NIT Warangal are better than other NITs. Here is the placement scenario for various M.Tech Civil specializations at NIT Warangal- Transportation Engineering- NIT Warangal is one of the best in the country for Transportation. This specialization has a good placement record. Maximum students are placed in core jobs in MNCs while some are placed as teachers in private Engineering colleges. A few students from Transportation clear competitive exams and get a government job on their own. Structural Engineering has good placement figures and its workload is lesser than the other specializations. CTM is a newer branch but it has a good placement record. Water Resources, Environment, and Geotechnical Engineering have lower placement percentages. The package range is more or less uniform for all these branches. Ques. What is the scope after an M.Tech course in earthquake engineering at IIT Roorkee?

● Top Answer By Shruti Gupta on 14 Apr 23

Ans. M.Tech in Earthquake Engineering at IIT Roorkee would provide students with a strong understanding of the science and engineering of earthquakes and how to design structures to withstand them.  Some of the potential career opportunities include jobs in consulting firms, government agencies, construction companies, or research institutions, where you would use your knowledge of earthquake engineering to design and evaluate buildings and other structures for seismic safety. You can also pursue research or enter Academia.  The scope of M.Tech in earthquake engineering at IIT Roorkee depends on where you will be showcasing your learned knowledge and skills. Not many industries understand the skills gained through Earthquake Engineering. But the course delivers the finest concepts of structural behavior which eventually helps you to climb the ladder as a structural. You may find your skills go to waste as many people devalue and belittle this branch but trust me it has great scope in the future. The best part is that you can pursue both structural engineering and structural dynamics as a student of Earthquake engineering.Read more

Ques. How is IIT Delhi for M.tech in Civil Engineering from placement point of view?

● Top Answer By Dipti Sinha on 10 Apr 23

Ans. Most Government, as well as Private companies, prefer BTech graduates to MTech or MS graduates. One needs an MTech degree only if one wants to enter academia or research. The reason they prefer a fresher is that they consider them flexible and thus sponsor them for higher study in their field of requirement. M.Tech degree is not required to secure a good job and I will recommend you start preparing for GATE instead and target a PSU job. The written tests and interviews during the process of GATE Preparation will increase your chances of selection in the future.Read more

Ques. Which is better - doing M.Tech from IITs or going for NITIE Mumbai?

● Top Answer By Rishabh Khandelwal on 13 Aug 21

Ans. Having to know some people studying in both these colleges, I can say that they are equally good. You can opt for any one of them, their respective programs are also good. They are recognized as Centres of Excellence by MHRD, Govt of India. The choice mainly depends on the individual and their preferences. You should go for the one you are enthusiastic about. NITIE offers 3 courses, where the selection is through GATE scores. These include Post Graduate Diploma in Industrial Engineering, Project Management, and Manufacturing Management. These courses are a mixture of technical and business management. IITs offer M.Tech through GATE exam scores.  It involves core specialization and nothing about industrial management. So, the selection of the college and the course entirely depends on you. Go through them and then decide which will be a better option for your career.Read more
