M.E. CSE is a Post Graduate course in engineering with a specialization in the field of computer science and its related aspects. It is a two years course divided into four semesters. A minimum of 55% (relaxable for reserved category candidates) marks at UG level is the least which almost all the institutes desire from applying candidates (in the form of eligibility criterion).

M.E CSE course admissions involve both Common Entrance Test (CET) based selection method as well as merit-based selection criteria that is the percentage of marks obtained at Under Graduate (UG) level. Most of the colleges which provide admissions through CET mechanism rely on the score of All India level common entrance exams like GATE (Graduate Aptitude Test for Engineering), IIIT Delhi, IIST PG while a select few opt for a separate entrance exam of their own (Like LUPNEST, BITSAT HD etc.).

Post Graduates in Computer Science and Engineering have a wide range of job opportunities like Software engineers, application developer, network engineer, hardware engineer, CAD engineer etc. After completion of post graduation, one may pursue further studies like M.Phil and Ph.D. in the said subject or may take up job opportunities associated. The average salary ranges between INR 14,000 and 20,000 a month for a fresh pass out.

M.E. CSE: What is it about?

The knowledge of Computer Science has been the driver of IT industry in India. The cost-effective and sustainable solution provided by Indian technical experts has earned praises at the global level. The growth and build up of the industry has surged the demand for qualified computer science professionals in the market.

The study of the subject involves software coding knowledge as well as the understanding of computer hardware and it’s working so, as to get a holistic view of the functioning of computer systems.

A master’s level course in computer science is aimed at developing professionals that can contribute meaningfully to the growth of the industry through execution of their knowledge and skills in the domain.

M.E. CSE: Who Should Opt for?

M.E. CSE: Admission Process

Admission to the course mostly involves a common entrance test based admission process (as seen across various Universities and colleges in the country).

Most of the Universities/Colleges conduct a common entrance test for admission into M.E courses (like LUPNEST, BITSAT HD) or take admissions through commonly held entrance exam like GATE, IIIT PG.
Students have to qualify these exams (for which they should be eligible to appear) in order to get admission in the course.
After the conduct of the test, a merit list of finally qualified candidates is prepared and candidates are invited for admission process by the respective university or college.
After admission process final allotment of seats to the candidate takes place and the candidate is asked to deposit the fee for the course and register for the respective academic year.
The new academic year begins after the completion of all the above processes.

Admission process would more or less be same across all the colleges and universities that are offering this course.

M.E. CSE: Eligibility

Candidate must have passed the B.E/B.Tech or equivalent examination in the respective stream from a recognized state/private/deemed or central University with at least 55% (relaxable for reserved category candidates) of the marks.

He/She shall not be having any backlog or compartment in any of the subject/Subjects at UG level that is yet to be cleared at the time of taking admissions.
Apart from the above-mentioned eligibility criteria’s various colleges and institutes may have their own additional criteria’s which the students would have to satisfy in order to take admission (like work experience of 1 or 2 years).
In case of reserved category students, they would have to present their reservation certificates issued by the competent authorities in order to avail the benefits applicable to them.
Most of the Institute give admissions through Common Entrance Test (CET) (like GATE, IIIT PG). To get admissions in these institutes candidates would have to qualify the respective entrance exam by securing minimum qualifying marks.

The eligibility criteria’s mentioned above are common to most of the universities and colleges across the country that are offering this course to the students.

BITS - IT'S MAGIC

faculty to student ratio is approx 1:7, Faculty members are highly educated and well mannered with helping nature. I like prof Geetha Kumari most as her is my advance Operating systems professor. Some of other best faculity is Thathagat Sir. Mostly I like everyone ,everyone is good. There are 2 exams in a semester midsem and comprehensive they are of moderate levels. Around 95 percent students cleared the exams.They are highly relevant to course curriculum.

Campus Life

Atmos is our cultural fest,Pearl is our tech fest. Range is too good and highly accesssible of books and journals the database is too big of library. Classrooms are hughlyu facilitaed like ac's, Projectors,Attendance. Sports facilities are too good,there is almost every sport playground availabe with pools. There are too many clubs active like social media club VFT,GDSC etc.

Fees and Financial Aid

At first you have to pay approx 3.35 lakhs which is (2.75L + 60K) this is admission fees and 1st semester fees. Thereafter you have to pay 2.75 L per semester which by the way increases by 5% every year .Even if you are not financially capable of paying the fees you will easily get the loan from BITS . And since there is no reservation in BITS so all the students have same fees .

There is generally relative marking scheme like if the highest in class is (8/10) then he or she will get 10 cg. But some teachers starts from 8 only. There is no such faculties which I don't like because they all are highly qualified .They are very knowledgeable. But some faculties like AOS and Advanced Algo are strict so have to do accordingly.

BITS Goa is Amazing Ong

Faculty and students have good interaction, the faculty are very good at teaching. the lectures are engaging and the evaluations are completely transparent. Most of the courses have a mid term and end sem examination. Other evaluations vary from course to course, while some have Lab evalutations, some have presesntations, some have projects etc. Faculties are always ready to help and be conducting remedial classes for students as needed. No one fails to clear the exam since everyone is smart and locked in. The questions in exams are application based that test actual understanding of the students properly.

Course Curriculum Overview

Algorithm teacher's teaching style is a bit hard to follow, although the faculty is a knowledgable person, he takes way too many pauses and doesn't keep the class engaged the whole time. Curriculum is comprehensive with multiple evaluations and latest syllabus and the electives are very updated as well, allowing students to choose based on their interesrts.

My worst college experience

In my college faculties and student ratio is very less there are less faculty. They didn't come to the class regularly because of naac work and any other works.they provide the material we need to study. For for average stident its okey but its not suitable for all students.

My college fee in 60000.Now for the currently they are charging 70000 per course for computerscience and engineering. Goverment scholarship is available its provided per cast. For last batch they didnt provide any placements facilites its okey as per the fee

You said first year fees 26 also 31000 for put 40000 added in product tution fees 56250 life is a not there and compulsory uniform and material 2000 and exam fees 9000 no management like SC ST. The previous you are badges for that is otherwise is there scholarships and like government scholarship INS available in for the student.

LNCT DECODED.

The faculty is really good with most of the teachers being PhD and Masters. The faculty to students ratio is obviously 1 : 60. 1 teacher for 60 students in a class. There are ample of teachers. There are 7 subjects per semester, 5 main and 2 extra. And there are different teachers for all. There are dedicated lab assistants too. The faculties are very approachable and friendly. Most of the teachers are good enough and really care about students while some minding their own business. The teachers I like are : The recent joinee INSHA ALI Ma'am for DBMS PRASHANT sir for engineering chemistry. SANU SIR and MADHU Ma'am for Eng. Mathematics. AMRITA GOEL for Digital Logics. MM SAHU for Eng Drawing. There are not any faculties which I particularly dislike, but yeah I don't like our mentor because he refuses to listen to anything. And the college management is not even changing him since 3 semesters. I have not encountered any teacher who was bad enough to be disliked but yeah I have heard from my friends that some teachers are just bad and very strict. There are 2 midsems and 1 endsem. The best out of 2 midsems is counted for evaluation. Midsems are 20 marks per subject. Midsems are conducted in 2 days. In 3+2 manner or 2+2 manner. 5 midsem exams in first and second year. And 4 in third and fourth year. The midsems also include the basic attendance criteria. Students below 60% lf attendance are barred from giving the exam and are marked 0. Midsems include 4-5 questions and are moderate in difficulty. There are no passing marks but yeah students get average 12-13 marks. Midsems highly depend on what is taught in the class. Endsems are 70 marks for each subject. Checked and conducted by Rgpv And the checking is very random and page dependent. The more you write , the more marks you'll get even if you repeat the same thing over. There are 5 end sems in first and second year and 4 in third and fourth year. Out of which most are moderate.

So, my college is LNCT Bhopal, there are 2 other colleges of LNCT in Bhopal itself at the same campus, namely LNCT Excellence and LNCT Science. Those two are fairly new so there fee is 25-30% low. In our college , it is mandatory to opt either for hostel or the bus facility. The hostel charges are nearly 1 lakh per year (mess included) and bus charges are 20,000 per year. The course fees is 1 lakh 50 thousand rupees/ year. I'm in CSE , Btech. The college does not charge extra money for any reason. All the fees is included already. The placement cell may charge extra 3000 in 3rd year for registration and learning material. The fees is same for all CSE related branches. i.e. CSE, AIML, AIDS, Cyber Security, IoT, etc. The fees of ECE branch in our college (LNCT MAIN) is around 1 lakh 25 thousand. There are scholarships available and almost half the students in our class are eligible. The two popular ones are, 1. MP TAS - this is for SC/ST and OBC students. Sc/St receive around 1 lakh per year. While OBC students receive 30 thousand. 2. MUKHYAMANTRI MEDHAVI VIDYARTHI YOJANA popularly knows as MMVY. There are 2 criterias for its eligibility a. Your family income should be less than 8 lakh/yr b. Your JEE MAIN rank should be under 1 lakh 50 thousand. In this, the maximum amount you can avail is 1 lakh 50 thousand. Both the scholarships are only for MP residents. And the application process is pretty smooth and there is a dedicated scholarship department which is helpful. The tuition fees increases by 3-4 thousand every year and the bus fees increases by around 1500 every year.

Chandigarh University's Reel v/s Real

The faculty was okish some teachers were really good and some were not. I had to work on my thesis and i was assigned a teacher but she didn't help me at all. She never picked my calls or returned my messages eventually i had to do everything on my own. The exam were either offline or online depending on the tupe of subject.

Per semester fee was around 40k but i got on campaign scholarship by giving the cu exam and got 30% scholarship so i had to pay only 28k per semester. The test is very easy and is organised each year online and consists of aptitude and reasoning along with field questions and is in mcq form.

My Genuine Review

Every year fee get increased by 10 thousand For Master in CSE fee is around 120000 per year but they provide you scholarship for that you have to appear for a exam conducted by University ... According to score you get scholarships. If you have done graduation from the same university they provide you 15% scholarship if you book your seat early.(earlybird scholarship) but to continue your scholarship you have to maintain 7.5 CGPA otherwise no scholarship will be given in next year. other than ME CSE fee for master is high in MBA which is around 1lack per semester

festival : cu fest is one of the major fest which is celebrated for 6-7 days day and night continuously. hundreds of other festivel celebrated here every month... every differnt dept organise different festival for students and faculty. if you are taking cse you must have your own laptop as they dont have enough lab for students so they take lab in classroom where you are supposed to carry your own laptop student have many club which anyone can join and participate in these club... which increase your social interaction

Review about PET Engineering College

In our class there were 10 students and we have one staff for each subject. They will provide the notes for the subject.Here they won't take classes.Only maths sir took the classes seriously,i didn't remember his name. There will be 2 internal exams and main semester exam.MAximum of the students passed one or two student got arrear in one subject

College day will be conducted once a year. Then a syposium and conference will be held. Here there is a library for book access. Extracurricular activities are offered here sports day will be conducted once a year, students will also go to other colleges for sports competitions.

Experience with CU

The faculty to student ratio is very good , like if there are 1000 students for one course then there is 20 sections with 50 students each in class and 20 teachers are alloted for each section. Faculties credentials are good we often somehow regularily

Talking about fees structure of Chandigarh University, here fees are less as compare to other colleges of same level like Lovely professional university, as my course fees per semester is 56500. CU also gives you scholarships from their CUCET exam.

Overall Review about Chandigarh University

We talk about academic fees, it depends on the courses you're choosing, I chose M.E. so have an academic fee of around 56500, and like that only they have other course fees which are available on their website. Also, they conduct a CUCET exam before admission in that you can get a scholarship upto 100%. They also provide financial aid which you can apply for a study loan from their website.

The things which I saw is that they do a lot of activities to improve the students and also for their fun they conduct DJ Nights. And every year they conduct CU FEST and freshers party for the freshers. Also, a sports Meet is there every year and a lot of students participate there.

My experience in CU

The facilities over there are very helpful in nature, they clear each doubt even if we ask for numerous number of time they don't get irritated and they to answer that. They also helps in paper how to write where to submit all these things also. Overall they are wonderful

Tution fee for ME was 40,000 and they conduct the exam scholarship exam based on the percentage we receive they scholarship. And some percentage we have to maintain to continue avail the scholarship otherwise it will be added again to fees.

BITS one of the best engineering institute in india

Curriculum is well oriented but not focused on placement, you have to focus by yourself for placement. Startups opportunities is awesome u can have a gap of a year to start your startup, college provide fund for that. Faculty are good typical engineering college professor type not that much good but some professor I know was very helpful and knowledgeable. Exams are moderate to difficult.

Placement are very good Every type of company visit IT, finance , data science for different role like software developer, data scientist, semi co ductor Cse and electronics placement are best. You will get good internship 2024 batch students faced problem in placement because of bas it market situation.

Review on Saveetha engineering college

I chose this course because I have studied UG in the same course and computer science and engineering in Saveetha has good benefits. It has excellent infrastructure and lab facilities. It has a flexible schedule of classes. There are many faculty members to help students in each and every specific subject.I got many best help for my ME projects from the faculties. For each term, we get notes from faculties which makes it easier to prepare for exams.

There are many libraries available and many books for each department. There is a sports activity happening frequently. Many outside college students also come to participate in the games. Many social forums are also there to discuss the social life of students and new forthcoming events of Saveetha on official websites and have pages on Instagram and Facebook.
