Fee Structure And Facilities

Students will have to pay their fee at the beginning of each semester and it is around 42k per semester including accommodation and food. Apart from the Rs.12400 stipend from GOI, students can apply foe DAAD scholarship program in the 2nd semester and if a student is selected for this scholarship then he/she will have to conduct his/her research work in Germany for one year. During this one year students get good amount of scholarship, study allowance and subsidies and travelling expenses too. If any student is not able to pay his fee then he can apply for education loan in the campus itself. Placement is good for both core and non-core, many MNCs from IT industry visit kgp campus for recruitment.

Campus Life

IIT Kharagpur campus has all the facilities one can imagine, which includes Games and sports, arts, music and dance, live debate competition, drama, technical fest, art fest etc. The campus is so huge that almost every day there is an event in the campus. There are plenty of societies and club and NGOs too solely run by the students. Campus has around 21 Hall of residence for boys and girls excluding teachers quarters. All the facilities are available in campus itself, if a student enters in the campus he can complete is his degree without stepping out of the campus. There is "tech market" in the campus that has all the modern facilities. Campus has its own hospital.

Placement Experience

Placements in our college is pretty decent. Many companies visited our campus this year compared to the previous batch. But still there is a lot of scope for improvement. The average salary package offered is around 3-4 LPA. There is a placement cell which deals with all the placement activities. Students have to search for internships on their own.

College Events

College organise many extra-curricular activities to promote the overall development of the students. Along with sports and games, cultural events and scientific program are also conducted in the college. Seminars are conducted every week. Industrial visit and many field trips are also organised to give a hands-on experience to the students.
