Course Curriculum Overview

The practical exposure was off the charts. We saw a lot of machinery in action. The college is pretty flexible in terms of education. The curriculum is a mix of both theory and practical classes. We learned about different food processing techniques and tools. A special class was dedicated for the training of the machinery.

Placement Experience

Placements in our college is pretty decent. Many companies visited our campus this year compared to the previous batch. But still there is a lot of scope for improvement. The average salary package offered is around 3-4 LPA. There is a placement cell which deals with all the placement activities. Students have to search for internships on their own.

College Events

College organise many extra-curricular activities to promote the overall development of the students. Along with sports and games, cultural events and scientific program are also conducted in the college. Seminars are conducted every week. Industrial visit and many field trips are also organised to give a hands-on experience to the students.

Fee Structure And Facilities

The M.Tech course is pretty expensive and there are limited scholarship options available with the college. Annual fee for the M.Tech course was around 1.5 lacs per annum.

Campus Life

Numerous awareness programs and food technology expo are organised in order to motivate the youth towards the food processing industry. In fact, I visited one of these expos a while back and got motivated from there only. Overall the campus life is pretty decent and the infrastructure is also nice here.

Admission

Admission is on the basis of IIFPT Post Graduate Entrance Examination. A merit list is prepared on the basis of the entrance exam scores and overall academic performance of the student. I always wanted to join the institute for a bachelor’s, but opting for the Food Tech trade was a last minute decision.

Faculty

Faculty members are pretty knowledgeable, helpful and qualified. They all are very caring and know how to understand the students' emotions. They clarify the doubts of students. The teaching method is smart and the faculty members make the students prepare slides and explain so that they can understand easily.

the Placements of my College are good as the connections of our good so top recurters came like amazon,tata,mahindra the highest package is of 75 lakh per annum and average package is of 8 lakh in our batch placements anount is less but now goodPercentage of students getting placements is 85 percent From which semester students become eligible for campus placements lthird year last semester.

Niftem Thanjavur Campus life , admission process.

This college gives admission through Jee mains , if u are general category you need minimum 90 percentile whereas for other categories you can get admission above 75-80 percentile. I think good aspect is the exposure my college will give to Food Technology students, we have many departments including New product development, food packaging, food safety and quality assurance, etc. All these departments have their separate labs with high quality equipments where you can perform your research under the professors valuable guidance. If you join this college, believe me you have chosen the best college for food technology in India. But, my college is affiliated under TNAU, which means all the academic related should be decided by TNAU (ICAR accredited-one of the best agriculture college in India). My college is getting the Institute of National Importance (INI) status which means my college will soon be a deemed university. The main reason why I choose is I always want to do something different, everyone are going in same path like choosing CSE, ECE, EEE, etc so I want to choose different path in my life which is why I took Food Technology and another main reason is I am always fascinated about food science and its processing from farm to fork, I really wanted to get involved in those processes so I choose this course.
