Tamil Nadu GNM Admissions 2025: Eligibility Criteria

Candidates who want to apply for GNM courses in Tamil Nadu need to fulfil the following eligibility criteria to seek admission to the GNM Nursing course.

  • Candidates must have passed Class 12 or equivalent from a recognized board with an aggregate of at least 40% marks. Applicants must have studied Physics, Biology, Chemistry and English as compulsory subjects.
  • The candidate should be at least 17 years old during the time of admission.

Tamil Nadu GNM Admissions 2025: Application Process

Interested candidates need to apply for the course by visiting the official website and following the given steps.

  • Applicants have to go to the official website of the Directorate of Health Services, Tamil Nadu.
  • In the homepage, find the courses section and select the Diploma Courses tab.
  • The applicant will then be forwarded to the application page.
  • Then the applicant needs to fill all the information which is required in the form. This includes their personal details, qualification details and other miscellaneous information.
  • After rechecking the information, the applicant needs to submit the form.
  • Also, make sure to pay the application fee before the due date which is INR 250. 

Documents Required

The applicant needs to make sure the availability of the following documents during the time of admission as mentioned in the application form. Applications which do not follow the prescribed norms or have deficient or counterfeit documents will be rejected.

  • Identification Proof.
  • Age proof of any kind (Birth certificate, Class 10 Admit Card, Class 10 Marksheet or Class 12 Marksheet).
  • SC/ST certificate for eligible candidates.
  • Permanent Residency Certificate.
  • Disability Certificate for eligible candidates.

Tamil Nadu GNM Admissions 2025: Counselling Process

Since there is no exam, direct admissions take place depending on the merit the candidate has achieved. Thus a good score in the previous qualifying exam will increase the chances of a successful candidature.  After the successful submission of the application, the candidate needs to go through the following process.

  • After the announcement of the merit list, candidates who are selected according to the merit list will be eligible for counselling.
  • Candidates will be allotted seat based on their preference, class 12 scores and the availability of seats.
  • Once allotted a seat, they have to report at the allocated college for admission. 
  • Once the choice are locked, they cannot be changed. 
  • Candidates not joining the course will not be eligible for the next counselling rounds. 
  • The selection will be cancelled if candidates do not report to the head of institution to which they are allotted on or before the specified date.
