What is BSc Hons Admission Process?

BSc Honours admission usually involves the selection of candidates based on merit, but some colleges take admission on the basis of performance in the Common Entrance Test (CET) conducted by universities.

The common BSc Hons admission process is mentioned below:

  • Merit Based Admission Process:

In Merit-Based Admissions, students are selected for admission if they have cleared the cut-off set by different colleges like Miranda House, and Gargi College in their courses. The college usually releases 2 to 3 cut off lists for its BSc Hons courses, and students who clear the mentioned percentage are considered for admission.

  • Entrance Exam Based Admission Process:

Many reputed universities like Christ University, BHUIGAU, etc conduct a Common Entrance examination to select the interested students. They also consider the marks scored in Class 12. After clearing the entrance examination, the students are usually called for a Group Discussion Round or Personal Interview Round or both.

There is a fest named Meraki that is organised once in three years. However, various fests and celebrations are organized by the college itself. Apart from that there are student run clubs and organizations. One of them is the dance club. Auditions are organized every year for the intake. However, there is limited space. Various workshops and programs are conducted in the area of sports such rock climibing, basketball, and so on. Journals on astrophysics, literature and economics are provided in the library.

Fees and Financial Aid

Merit forms were circulated every year for scholarships. The annual fee was around ? 20,000. Plus there is an examination of around ? 3000 every semester. Placements were provided in terms of sales and technical assistance. However in terms of science and research there were little to none internships provided.

Course Curriculum Overview

Actually i am pursuing Bachelor Degree in zoology which is my favourite subject of all. From childhood i have always wanted to study about animals and their way of living and how we can approach with education to all people especially living in villages about animals and their behaviours as they are often attacked by wild animals and since they have very less knowledge about it they are more likely to be attacked. Our course is based on variety including behaviours of non-chordates and chordates and how it affects human. I think there should be more practical in this courses so that students can easily understand this field.

Fees and Financial Aid

There is only admission fees every year which is not more than 6000 and the rate of hikes is not very high. There are facility of fee waivers which help economically weaker students to get admission in the college. Excluding this there is also a an exam form fillup fees for every semester which is about 1500-2000. Scholarships are provided to reserved categories and economically weaker students. The college employs more than 50 4th grade workers in various fields which solves problems of unemployment in the region

If you believe and know that you will not be able to find work that is equivalent to your B.Sc Comp Sc, please do not apply.  Passion for Computers: If you want to go into research while still enjoying computer science, pursue an M.Sc in Comp Sc from DU or another reputable university such as Kolkata University or Bombay University. Ques. Is IGNOU good for B.Sc?

● Top Answer By Shivangi Guha on 07 Apr 22

Ques. What are the future prospects of getting a BSc degree from DU? What are the best colleges in DU?

● Top Answer By Prashant Mathur on 12 Oct 22

Ans.  In today's world, getting a bachelor's degree from any college isn't worth much. DU has a brand name, but if your overall grades aren't good enough, having a degree from Delhi University is pointless. By providing many resources and an intellectual environment, Delhi University will assist you in exploring various aspects of your personality. However, if you have a bachelor's degree in any of the Science subjects or even Mathematics, you will need to do a master's or even a PhD to get a decent-paying job. However, if you are an SRCC or Stephens graduate, you may be able to get a good placement from the college itself if you have a degree in Arts or Commerce with above-average marks. The best colleges vary depending on your subject, such as SRCC for those interested in commerce. Stephen's is also regarded as one of the most prestigious universities. Other good colleges include Miranda House, Hindu, and Lady Shri Ram.Read more

● Top Answer By Deepak Kumar on 01 Nov 22

Ans. In order to get admission to the MSc program of IITs, you have to appear in the IIT JAM examination. This requires BSc Hons or a major in Physics, Chemistry or Mathematics. IGNOUs BSc major program has an option of a Physics major(48 credits of physics course out of total 96 credit for major in physics), Chemistry major(40 credits for major), Mathematics major or a BSc (General).
