Faculties are so good, they are well graduates from big universities, their way of teaching is excellent. Their way of approaching students is mesmerizing. And coming to fee structure, the fee for 1year is 90k. There are two semesters odd- June to dec and even-jan to may. Exam system is good. Phones are not allowed, invigilators are strict , the exams are moderated.. and it's good for me. Marking is for most of the exams it is for 20 marks..

Campus Life

The infrastructure is bad here. The campus is hella small but the perks are that in your first year you can just wake up ten minutes before class and run. Ofcourse its harder after you've left the ITO building. But atleadt you dont have to run around a big campus trying to find your class here. We have two annual fests in this college. Mini Utopia which is around September-October and Utopia in March. Mini utopia is a 2 day event mostly focusing on the first years and Utopia is a 3 day grand college fest. Both fests attract a good number of alumnis. We also have many societies like Cyborn (gaming), Sankalp Coda (music), Spandan (drama), Mudra (dance), Strokes (painting), Spatula (food), Spokes (cycling), Inmotion (film), etc.

Faculty

The faculty to student ratio is okay. As a planning student its really hard to keep up with the technical work most times. You need to know many softwares to be able to work efficiently here. GIS, AutoCad, Photoshop and Excel are a must. We have two exams per year. The mid sem and final sem exams. Count depends on how many subjects we have in our syllabus that semester but mostly its around 4 to 5. The externals are usually either 50 marks or 100. Easy to score because we also have alot of internals. However, studio work is hard. It takes up all your time and energy. And the survey days are harder.

Course Curriculum Overview

Since I learned about this course while filling up form of JEE. The concept of working at a city level fascinated me. Plus the carrier option I saw was pretty good there forever I opt this course and to be honest I don't regret my choice the course is very relevant and is actually the scales we work on is pretty important. Every sem we learn a different scale and dive into different aspects of city planning and development. Currently we are working on a regional scale. It is very important to understand what we need and what data we don't. So as far the course relevance, it's pretty good. The course can improve by adding more newer approach with the technology. Every year the course is getting advanced indeed but integration in the theory is important. The exams here happen per semester. Exam here is not that hard. Internals are important, doing assignments on time is important along with the regular reviews teaches u more than enough.

Campus Life

The campus life is pretty good. Indeed it lacks infrastructure but the college experience in hostel is pretty memorable. The college got countries largest library for the specific department ( architecture and planning) and considered the best. We have our annual sports fest known as athlos we also participate in conventions hosted by NASA and Nosplan and we also take part in MNIT sports and Interspa. We got our college fest UTOPIA and for the freshers MINI UTOPIA. We got 16 societies like drama, music, gaming, fashion, etc which hosts multiple events.

The campus life in MANIT has been good so far. It is the 3rd largest campus among NITs. It has a lot of greenery and a wide area for a sports complex, hostels, respective departments and cafes, and restaurants. The famous fest of MANIT is Mafic. It has awesome chief guests and is very insightful. The campus includes a central library with lots of books. It is very well organised and the students also enjoy the facilities of the online library which makes the process less tedious. The classrooms are spacious and have proper tables and chairs for architecture and planning students. They are cleaned on regular notice and everyone makes sure that the classrooms are well maintained. They also have proper electrical connections with fans and lights. The college offers great support for people interested in sports. They have one of the largest areas dedicated to a sports complex and gymnasium. The clubs include technical, professional, cultural, social, and many more clubs.

Course Curriculum Overview

I chose a bachelor's of planning because it is a very logical field of study. We learn management and administration in the right amount by looking at and observing things on a macro to a micro-scale. Initially, they teach you about urban planning, basic design, culture and technology, history, technical report writing, statistics, building materials, and much more. The faculty-to-student ratio for bachelor of planning is 1:9. A lot of faculties have PhD in urban Planning from SPA Delhi or IITs and are highly qualified. The teaching methods are flexible and excellent. The terms are held with time and the difficulty level is also average. This makes it easy to clear with some effort.

2 cultural fests. 2 sports fests. 1 cultural and sports fest in the 3 months of each semester. Countless references in the library, one of the oldest in the nation. More than enough necessities in the classroom. Slight issues in the network. Check out societies on Instagram.

Course Curriculum Overview

The future scope to apply and learn different courses is large. Planning is the next upcoming sector. Beneficial for civil services knowledge. Faculty have more than 30 years of experience in field/teaching. Term exams are not difficult to prepare but difficult to score.

Internships Opportunities

We can work on a lot of government live projects through our studio exercise. SPA's strength is our seniors. So, the internship and placements are more dependent on them. As we have good connections with our seniors, this is not a big deal. In b planning, you have to do two internships minimum. And sometimes it will be paid(private sector) an average of 15,000.

Course Curriculum Overview

SPAD is the place where we can get India's best faculty. And it is the best college for planning students as well as architecture students. The faculties are good and supportive. The main highlight of our college is our library. The college curriculum is really good.

Loan/ Scholarship Provisions

The fee is quite nominal compared to other colleges and institutions of the same repute, also paired with enough scholarships both central, state and the one's provided by the college. However, there is no proper placement for undergrad students the post-grad students prevail in the field and have a good placement scenario

Course Curriculum Overview

The faculty are top of the line, having a vast experience and expertise in the field. There are plenty of faculty and maintain a good student-to-faculty ratio. There are all types of faculty contractual, Permanent and visiting faculty so as to maximise the output and reach of knowledge available to the students.

Course Curriculum Overview

The course teaches about the planning of neighbourhoods, wards, cities and regions in both rural and urban areas. It fascinated me to get admission here as the world is facing global warming and other disaster due to unplanned development and it is a course that will help resolve and reduce these issues. The faculty members are experienced but the new joiners are not up to the mark.

Campus Life

The SPA hostel celebrates many festivals- independence day, Janmashtami, Ganesh Chaturthi etc. The college has 2 annual fest Utopia and Mini Utopia and the campus is filled with installations made by the SPAkriti society. There is Athlos which is a sports event of the college. There are 13 societies in the college.
