Faculty

The faculty actually does consider their students and help them whenever needed. They're very approachable and polite and are always ready to provide help and guide everyone. I personally like the teachers very much since they're pretty chill and not too strict. There are 2 written exams and 1 assignment based per semester. CE 1 which is of 20 marks and is a written exam. CE 2 is assignment based (internals) Then the final Semester of maximum 60 marks and minimum 40 marks. Per semester there are 6 credit scores which can be achieved by filling the credit hours in extra curricular activities such as joining the cultural team, yoga, gender sanitization and green club, etc.

Sports and extracurricular activities are provided by the campus and they are maintained and well coordinated too . The books which you want related to course are available in the library which helps in studies. Student who runs social groups and organises the events does not bring his personal issues as they must take the responsibility of both things the bmm fest name is Frames Film Festival

I took admission in the college in 2021, the fees for my first year was 15,000 rupees. Later, for second year, the fees was increased to 22,000 rupees. For my final year, the fees was 24,000 rupees. Computer lab fees is compulsory, although, our department has ever seen our college computer labs. There are many fees divided in the fee structure which are not important and relevant. Scholarships are available for all backward classes through MAHDBD scheme. There is no campus employment. One can indulge in roles such as campus contingent leader, assist in cultural committee; however no stipend is provided. These activities enrich leadership skills and teamwork. The college doesn't provide elevator facilities for students, so I don't think the course fees does justice to what facilities we are offered. Drinking water is accessible and that's the only thing we have access to with the fees. Our classrooms are not clean either.

Campus Life

O2 is an annual fest held by our college for seven days in the second week of december. A drama club, film club, photography club, and visual communication club was formed in the first year by teachers and students if our department. However, after few teachers left the faculty, the club saw a fall in its activites. Our college ground is huge and sports are highly anticipated in our college. The college has two libraries which doesn't have ac. It is accessible to all students; however, 30 rupees is spared by students to make a library pass and take the books home. The campus life is very exciting because our college campus is big. The classrooms are not equipped with facilities. There is a chalkboard in each class. However, the projector works only in few classrooms.

KCampus life is good but they don't hv any roofs to prevent students from rain in rainy season as the campus is open for up also the campus can be quite big it is very small despite having large number of students the activities performed every year is amazing like there are fests in which excellent food is provided and also we get chance to meet top celebrities of bollywood in our collegecollege, the people comes there makes the environment to participate more in activities and sports also i feel motivated to studies after taking admission to this college as friends are very supportive they always make sure that everything is fine however i got to studies more compared to school thanks to the environment of this college

Loan/ Scholarship Provisions

so the fee structure for the mass media course at Kelkar College is quite reasonable. it includes tuition fees, exam fees, and some other additional charges. they usually provide a detailed breakdown of the fee during the orientation programme. as for the scholarships and financial aid the college does offer some scholarships based on merit and needs. campus, employment opportunities are limited. but there are a few part-time gigs and internships you can apply through the College's placement cell.

Campus Life

Campus life at Kelkar College was fantastic. I was super involved in various clubs, which was fantastic and helped me to make some great friends. the infrastructure was solid too, everything we needed was easily accessible, from the library to the computer labs. overall it was a vibrant and supportive environment, that that really enriched my time there.

Course Curriculum Overview

I will rate course curriculum a 8 on 10.. it is because now I am in 3 year...And my course is bachelor's in Multimedia and Mass communication..In which we have specialisation in 3rd year... That means we need to choose between Journalism and Advertising in the last year...so in 1st and 2nd year we eventually come to know that what's our exact interest... people here is very helpful in terms of guidance.

Course Curriculum Overview

The course is industry integrated and mostly their is practical knowledge in this field bus this is also related to media and I was already interested in the same so choose this course. The curriculum does give you all the knowledge that you need and it does help you in shaping your future. Their are some area of improvement as they teach history of every thing personally I don't think learning the history of every thing is necessary and it can be skipped. Exam are conducted twice a year along with the assignment the exam are not that difficult

Campus Life

Tarangan is the fest held at college level it is conducted once a year a year end, apart from this their are many fest held at branch level like for BMM a fest named Cortokino takes place same time around Tarangan. Faculty

The faculty to student ratio is fair enough. It is fine for students to have good amount of learning at once. Smallers classes make it more accessible for professors to teach students and pay attention throughout. The faculty seems to be well trained and qualified for all. They help with practical and bookish knowledge both. They provide real-life examples helping us understand the situation better. The faculty takes out reasonable hours for a class and is available for students. They provide guidance throughout the assignments and lectures. They are even responsive on chat and emails etc. They are also willing to give students certain extra hours in case they have doubts or anything as such. To sum this up, the effectiveness and qualifications of faculty at my college is top notch for all the students studying helping them enrich their educational experience more.

Campus Life

There are various fests held annually like Knot, Blitz, and many more. Each festival is equally popular and enjoyable for all students. Although all these festivities are held in the main campus the Colaba campus is too small. The library have the necessary books. In the Colaba campus, the facilities are mostly small but manageable. There are projectors in classrooms but they mostly are broken. Sports activities are mostly not held. In extracurricular we have dance, singing, rap, and other such activities held by clubs.

Course Curriculum Overview

I am a second year student in Bhavan's college in the BMM department. During my admissions after 12th , when i looked up for curriculum in Bhavan's a certain subjects like Mobile content creation and photography lured me as they are easily applicable in practical work plus they are in demand in todays media field. The current curriculum is 85% theoretical according to me as only one subject that is theatre studies is practical. Hence the application of current syllabus in real life is questionable. However , it can be useful if one opts for Post graduation. The area where the curriculum needs to improve is to add more practical knowledge and teaching methods should be more interactive. In context of frequency of exams, only 2 end sem exams plus internal exams for 2 credit subjects are conducted. The difficulty level can be rated as mediocre.

Faculty

There are particularly only 4 professors for BMM department. The faculty to student ratio is hence 4 : 180. The approach of faculty towards teaching is totally theoretical. There is a lot of bias towards specific students. Interactions with professors happen often even outside the classrooms but they fail to provide essential personal guidance. There are particular professors who are inapproachable due to their nature. However when it comes to providing study material, the professors are very particular and punctual. Study material like relevant websites , books and notes made by professors are provided for each subject.

Campus Life

The college is filled with fests and extracurricular activities. Every day now and then you will pop across a fest in this college. There are various student-run clubs and department-specific fests. The extracurricular committee is held on by the student council and has various sub-departments under it. You can apply to be heads, subheads or even as volunteers to any of these fests or clubs. One can join as much of fests as you want according to your time crunch. The annual fest of college is called Malhar which is one of the biggest college fest in Asia. It has various guests coming in every year like last year it was AP Dhillon. Sports and other activities are also provided. The gymkhana in the college gives you space for that part. Inter-department sports also take place between students. The library is very lively with centuries-old books to daily newspapers for your service.

Course Curriculum Overview

The course has changed a lot from last year due to the NEP guidelines. The new curriculum provides cross-faculty minor courses through which we learn about not only our course but a completely different one too. It is a very new model of timetable and we are the experiment batch. Some suggestions I would give are to provide minors which are related to our subject so that it would be useful to us in future also providing better options in choosing electives. One positive I found is the honours programming which gives us the option to directly take Phd once done with our bachelors. Also the free exit system is also helpful.

Wilson has festivals going literally every month of various Departments. BMM has Polaris (July) and College's annual festival is called as "Ole" which is between December to January. Then there's "HOPE" of BMS department which mostly happens in September and October. All students are encouraged to be part of all of these festivals. Wilson College has the biggest library of Mumbai and its historical library which ranges books from 200 years ago. The classrooms are Decent and Basic with projector and Blackboard, nothing else. Wilson has AV room and Smart TV room for special lectures. The extracurricular is Great. College has a club called Muktangan which takes care of all the extracurricular activities, events in the college and sports. This club make sure that all of the Extracurricular Activities' credits get added to your Degree and Semester Results.

Course Curriculum Overview

The subjects and curriculum are well structured but it depends on the teachers how they make it to students. The most projects are really great and prepares you for the actual industry but on the other hand you'll also get basic and traditional projects like essay and PPTs from some teachers. Only few teachers make the subjects sound sane when on the other hand other teachers are just reading it out loud from the Pdfs. Biggest Pro is that all of your projects get individual marking and reviews about them for improvement. The frequency of Exam is decent and they are Intermediate level.
