Faculty

Faculty student ratio was very less. We have 6-7 different departments only had 3-4 faculties, who didn’t have the specialization for the departments. We just use to get notes, we try to remember them and write them in exams. The faculties never helped us for central entrance examinations. The worst was our dean who never listen to us. Even the placement was arranged by the faculties rather than the placement cell of the college. When we asked them about our placement they just show some random emails they sent to the company and didn't get the reply and they were telling can't you see we are trying but comapnys are not replying.

Course Curriculum Overview

The exam pattern was good. Moderate paper was there. Examiner had done a great job. For the curriculum we always had to pay extra money. In our 7th sem, we had all India tour, we did have any practical classes or theory exam still we had to pay for the practical and library not only that we had to pay for the trip as well.

Placement Experience

Students of 8th semester are eligible for campus placements, as far as I know only two companies visited for campus placement for my course, all the campus placements are for btech students, there is no scope for life sciences. In that two companies one company only choosen one person, other company package was very low and work hours are a way exhausting like 8 hours of standing, I plan to complete my masters after this course.

Campus Life

Course Curriculum Overview

By this course we get a great opportunity in the future since fisheries is a developing sector. Since the main course in this college is fisheries the teaching methods and the teaching faculties are great. All the faculties are well experienced in their field of teaching an most of them are great researchers. This helps the students to gain more knowledge in that field. The exams are conducted semester wise with 8 semester and each sem is 6 months long. We have mid term exams also in each semester. The exam are not easy. They are medium to hard. The question papers are prepared by researchers. A lot of out of syllubus questions are included which makes the exam hard.

Aquaculture - the best course in fisheries science it means the culture of aquatic organisms and aquatic plants. Aquaculture is my favorite subject The aquaculture area is spread all over Asia India ranks 2nd in aquaculture production, but still, it needs to be separated. It can be developed further, For this, there is a need to create more freshwater hatcheries, ponds, and reservoirs. Guiding farmers to improve the area, imparting their knowledge of new technology, providing financial support, and motivating students for aquaculture.

Fees and Financial Aid

Not much scholarship are provided by college.Only 1 is provided by OUAT i.e.merit scholarship for the students who avail good scores in the semester exams and with full attendance. The fee structure for general seat is somewhat ok but the price for cost sharing seat is very high which the management has to look upon this.Such heavy fees for this subject is not required. For eg if a general seat student is paying 8k-10k for one odd semester, then the cost sharing seat student pays an amount of 60k-70k.

Faculty

Students do learn from the professors but due to insufficient professors in the college all courses couldn't be completed which becomes difficult for the students for their future competitive exams.Still the amount of teachers we have ,they often guide us in every possible way .We interact with them in the class as well as personally. They are never busy for their students.
