BA Home Science: What is it all about?

BA Home Science: Admission Process
The admission to this course begins after the results of the 10+2 examinations are declared. The candidates have to fill application forms that are generally out in the month of June and July. Colleges/Universities release the cut-off lists for admission to this course. After that, the eligible candidates have to attend the counseling process and take admission in the respective college.
Admission on the basis of Sports/ Extra-Curricular Activities (ECA)
Some admissions are done on the basis of sports. Students have to register themselves with the college along with the relevant documents. Marks of Physical education will be considered for admission on basis of sports. Selection of the students will be done through a process of screening, trials, and interview according to the university rules.
5% of the total numbers of seats are offered for admission on the basis of sports and extra-curricular activities. The students who have achieved division in Sports/ECA will be considered for admission on Sports/ ECA basis. These students should fill up the particular university form provided for this purpose.
BA Home Science: Eligibility
There are no particular eligibility criteria for admissions into this course. The students just need to have qualified their 10+2 from a school affiliated to a recognized board. The students should also have obtained the minimum marks required as listed by the institute. Home Science as a subject in the senior secondary is beneficial for students.
Correspondence Mode of Study
Many colleges or universities offer BA Home Science in distance mode like Nalanda Open University. To get admission to this course in correspondence mode, a student needs to pass 10+2 or Intermediate from a recognized board with a minimum of 40% marks.
