In my course, there is one year of compulsory internship, before that your course is not complete. The internship stipend is decent and they will send you to different places during the internship. Placement and jobs are fair enough. Some go for VAS( vet assistant sergeon) some go for private practice, some join NGO's , some research field, some start business. There is a wide variation but in any case, everyone is successful.so there is a fair placements. Mostly people go for civil services.
