Located in Mohali, Chandigarh, L M Thapar School of Management (LMTSM) is a pioneer business college in Northern India, offering four academic programs for Postgraduate, Doctoral, and Research studies. Currently, LMTSM offers MBA, AMDP for working professionals, PhD (residential), and PhD (Executive) Programmes. The courses rendered at the institute are approved by AICTE and UGC. With students coming from all across India, LMTSM comprises a residential facility for over 500 students.

LMTSM shortlists the eligible students for its various Programmes based on the Thapar Management Aptitude Test, followed by GD/PI rounds. Meanwhile, the valid scores of CAT/ XAT/ CMAT/ MAT/ GMAT/ NMAT by GMAC/ GRE/ SNAP tests are also considered in case of nonavailability in the institute-based entrance test. For EMBA admissions, a minimum of six years of relevant work experience is required, and candidates are shortlisted based on the PI round. 

LMTSM has displayed an impressive placement during the recruitment drive of its MBA Batch of 2023. The placement rate during the recent placement drive remained at 98.3%, with 80+ recruiters visiting the institute. Candidates are required to apply online for MBA admission. Applicants will be shortlisted based on the overall academic performance and test scores available at the time of application. Shortlisted candidates will be invited for an in-person assessment and interview. 

The following are the various components for admission to the LMTSM flagship MBA Admission:

1. Professional Readiness: The profile readiness component of MBA selection comprises two parts:

Video Statement of Purpose – A short video not exceeding 03 minutes and preferably in MP4 format should be submitted before the interview, describing the following points:

1. Your motivation to pursue an MBA
2. What is unique about you as a person?

Interview – A personal interaction with the admissions panel, where the applicant is assessed for the overall fit.

2. Academic Readiness: For admission to the LMTSM MBA Programme, the academic readiness comprises two parts:

Quant & Verbal Aptitude Test – To be assessed based on the applicant’s valid CAT/ XAT/ NMAT by GMAC/ GRE/ GMAT/ CMAT/ MAT/ SNAP score. In the absence of any of the above-mentioned tests, students must appear for the Thapar Management Aptitude Test of 60 minutes in duration, on the day of the interview. 

Non-verbal Aptitude Test – A 40-minute test on non-verbal reasoning, conducted on the day of the interview, is mandatory for all applicants.

3. Academic History: It comprises three parts:

• Class 10 Performance
• Class 12 Performance
• Bachelor’s Degree Performance
